Who Has Ordered a PC from Dell?

Just wondering who out there has ordered a computer from Dell?

Someone ordered a computer for us as a gift last Wednesday and was promised delivery in 2-3 days. Needless to say, it is still not here. What shipping company does Dell use? I would assume UPS, but who knows. Also, how long did your delivery take??

I just ordered my second Dell computer on August 17. My confirmation email gives me a tracking number. Tells me when it is actually made and shipped. It is 2-3 day delivery AFTER shipping. I got an email today that it has been shipped. Good thing, DD leaves for college Sunday!

I have found Dell to be great.

They do come UPS.

Got one a couple weeks ago.
It came fast. They did send out notice when it was shipped.
It arrived UPS and had to be signed for.

We ordered my laptop and it can within 2 days of being shipped. I'd call, if it's been that long since it was shipped.

Yes, I would call Dell and ask about delivery. They come UPS but it seems like they don't always arrive when promised. Congrats on your new computer!!

When you order from tell you should get a customer number and confirmation order. With the numbers you can go into the website and see exactly where your computer is. I would go and check everyday and see that it was still being built, when it was boxed for shipping etc. Once it was released for shipping we got another e-mail telling us the UPS tracking number so I could go into UPS and know exactly what day it would arrive. You do have to be home to sign for it. We have ordered 3 Dells and they have always arrived quicker than the original estimated delivery date. (which was normally 10 days to 2 weeks). Laptop came in within 5 days. The regular PC's took about 7 days from order to delivery. (not including weekends)

Here's the glitch tho - I can't call. It is supposed to be a surprise for myself and my boyfriend. I'm not even supposed to know about it. A relative who knew about it slipped and mentioned it to me - but I have not told my boyfriend. (Shhh!) The person who ordered it for us keeps calling and asking if we "received any exciting packages lately". And she is not the type of person who would call and raise heck about where it is - I would. I would have been on the phone yesterday yelling at somebody!

Oh well, I'll sit and wait for the UPS man I guess.

Oh, that's right. I forgot you said it was a gift....and a surprise gift at that! Yep, you'll just have to wait for your surprise!! Sorry....but it will be fun when it gets there!!!

Well if it's a surprise you can't use any of the info I supplied. I think the person that ordered it might have been confused with the 2-3 day information. Usually it tells you computer will be shipped 2-3 days after completion of the order. It might 2-3 days to complete the order. You also have a weekend in there so don't count on those days either...you want to go with business days.

I ordered my new Dell 600m notebook last Wednesday. Supposedly the ship date is Sept. 1st. However I check my account each day it all the processes are done except for it to be boxed and then shipped. I hope I get it next week!!!!

I ordered mine a week before Christmas, and it came the 27th. I think the 2-3 days is after they process the order. I just ordered the ink Sat, they shipped it Sunday and I just got it today.(Tues.) However, they left it on the step. I believe it(computer) was delivered by UPS. They have super customer service, give them a call and they will help you out. They also have chat sessions w/ customer service , which is awesome too. I just hope it was delivered and they left it...CALL THEM!

I bought a desktop months ago and received it within 3 days.

Dell is having a Back to School sale with lots of discounts.. perhaps it's causing a delay?

well if they ordered it wednesday the absolute earliest it could have shipped is thursday so today is really only day 3. I wouldn't be freaking out about it yet. I'd start worrying if it hasn't come by the end of the week.
