Hi
Planning a Honeymoon/ Family trip in May of 2004.
I have a hard time looking through all the trip reports to see whose been at POP Century and all its pluses. And there doesn't seem to be a place yet in the Dis's Review/ Ratings Board for it.... so can you all tell me your feelings... good or bad about this resort. We have always stayed at Deluxe Hotels.......
Thanks
Sue

Pop Century is a Value resort, which means that it won't have all the amenities found at a Deluxe resort. However, it's still a Disney Resort with the same Disney service found at any resort on property. It's a very fun resort, too. :)

So far everyone I've talked to has loved Pop Century.

We are Disney Vacation Club members, so we have stayed at deluxe resorts, but on our trip last week we stayed at Pop Century. It was REALLY cute. My kids loved it!

Now, to be honest, I missed the kitchenette that you get in the the DVC resorts. But the rooms were nice enough (I LOVED the framed poster on the wall with Disney items from the 50's).

It isn't going to be like the Deluxe resorts, but it is very nice and the bus system worked great! The parking was the only problem we had (but we used the bus system for going to the parks most of the time).

If you have kids with you, they will love PC. My girls played twister in the outdoor area where it is set up. We went on a 'character' hunt through all of the decades (loved Lady and the Tramp!), and we enjoyed the tye-dyed cheese cake SO much that we all want to go back again just for that!

Now, to put this in perspective, we are a family that has 'tent camped' at Fort Wilderness (and had a great time), stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge with a Savannah View, stayed at the All Star Music Resort, had a one bedroom suite at Old Key West, and stayed in a Studio at Beach Club. We seem to have a great time no matter where we stay and we enjoy exploring all the different resorts (although Beach Club is on the top of my kid's list because of Storm Along Bay).

Good Luck in your decision. No matter where you are at, you will be at Disney and it will be magical!

I loved the Pop Century! And will be going back again one day.

We stayed there six nights beginning December 26th. It is a value resort, make no mistake. The rooms are small and I'm not so sure about spending my honeymoon there.

OTOH, we really enjoyed ourselves. They have a fantastic game room and we loved the food court - the best we've tried yet. The bus service was excellent as was all the service we received. One couple at the food court did have some sort of problem while we were there and made a big loud fuss. Another guest and I offered support to the cast member being abused. For a resort that just opened and on one of the busiest nights of the year, I don't know what these people expected, but I felt that the cast members did a wonderful job.

One small problem we had was with the offerings of the gift shop. We would have liked to see more of the grocery items offered at other resorts.

We have stayed at Deluxe, Moderate and all of the Stars. We were at PC for Opening Day and loved it! We are definitely goin back! It is a FUN Resort. But you mentioned a Honeymoon/Family vacation. The rooms are smaller than the deluxe. Family size could make a difference there.
