Who has eaten in every TS restaurant in EPCOT/World Showcase?

A few trips back, we completed our "eating around the World" mission at EPCOT. Surprisingly, China (Nine Dragons) was the last restaurant we ate in. I guess it was because Chinese food is "everywhere", but it's harder for me to find Norwegian and Morroccan in rural Sussex County, NJ.

While we have our favorites, it occurred to me that it may be possible to eat at every TS restaurant at WDW if we plan it out. If I thought about it long enough, I'll bet that there is a very short list of WDW restaurants we haven't eaten at...

So who else has been there and done this?

Yes, we completed this task a few years ago! It took a while, but it was worth it

I couldn't imagine trying to eat at every restaurant in WDW. By the way, stay away from Shula's (see my review in the dining reviews section).

I still need to try Jiko, maybe next time.

Sorry to hear you didn't like Shula's. I've eaten there three times, and enjoyed it thoroughly each time. Having eaten in NY steakhouses, I wasn't that offended by the wait staff- since it seems to be the norm for the waiters to be a little bit "cold". Also, it's all about the "meat".

In your waiter's defense, I understand the too many sides comment (and I assume that you did too when they brought them out ) We always get the creamed spinach at any high end steakhouse, and a lobster for the table. And usually get shrimp cocktails and the cowboy cut... Add it all up, and it's 3-4 pounds of food each, since we do not move until we've "finished".

I think that most people don't get the "steakhouse thing", and some are even offended by it because of the cost. (My first trip to Smith and Wollensky blew me away that I had to order a baked potato separately.) Since then, the first thing we do at Shula's is let them know we're "serious" about our steakhouses, and we're treated very well. When I ate at Nine in Las Vegas (it was very good, BTW), I was underwhelmed because it didn't feel like a steakhouse - I want the dimly lit table, good meat, and a waiter that leaves me alone unless I want something. Dinner should be at least 2 hours, since it takes 45 minutes to make the steaks. I've seen people complain about the service being slow- but that's what it takes! We sat there for 4 hours one night (on business) and closed the place out.

I think if you walk into Shula's with this in mind, you'll enjoy it immensely.

We have!

World Showcase is just about our favorite part of Disney World and 90% of the fun is eating in the restaurants.

Funny enough, even after trying them all, the tiny little Matsunoma Lounge in Japan is still our very favorite place to eat in World Showcase. It's a world away from all the hustle and bustle going on right below your windows. It's a "must do" for us on every trip!

I have eaten at all the Park table service restaurants. With the exception of Trail's End, Maya Grill and Citrico's I have eaten in all the Disney Resort table service restaurants. I have not counted DTD, Swolphin, and Hotel Plaza, but probably more than 1/3 of them.

I haven't eaten at all the WS TS restaurants. I still haven't done China, all the ones in Japan and Norway. I have no desire to try China because I can get Chinese food here.

I haven't tried Italy, Norway, China, Germany or Canada yet. I do have a res for Le Cellier for August, though!

No, haven't done all of them. We tend to find a few we like and keep going back there....but when we venture out we are often dissapointed so we stick to the same ones!

We LOVE Morroccan food so we eat there a couple times each trip. That is the one food we don't get much at home. We did not like the English place at all. Way overpriced and the food wasn't that good. Japanese we decided we just couldn't afford.

We have had German, Norwegian, Morroccan, Mexican, English and I think that is it for Epcot.

Not yet, but it is a goal of ours. After our October trip we will only have China, Morrocco, germany and Japan left. Our problem is that we have too many "must-dos" each trip!

As far as ordering too many sides, it's one thing for a waiter to suggest something, but to be nasty about it is another thing. The reason I wanted the extra veggies, is because I didn't order an appetizer and I only ordered the filet mignon.

As far as the service being slow, NO WAY!!! They rushed us out of there. We were done in about an hour. And the restuarant was empty. I agree with you that a dinner in a nice place should take about 2 hours.

I'm not offended when a server is not very friendly, as long as the server is not rude to me. I don't need "chit chat", I just expect a "you're welcome" when I say thank you. Also, a waiter should NEVER throw the check on the table and walk away, without saying thank you. Even in a neighborhood dump, you are asked if you want coffee before they bring you the check.

I'm sorry, I will never go there again and I would never recommend it to anyone. I just want to be treated with some type of civility and courtesy. I don't think thats too much to ask.

By the way, I did enjoy Artist Point, bluezoo, Flying Fish Cafe and Wolfgang Pucks (Upstairs). See my reviews in the Dining Review section.

Vegas is a wonderful place to eat, but it ain't cheap!

My best meal in Vegas was at 3950 in Mandalay Bay. Lobster Risotto. Poolside lunch at Mandalay was also killer, but we had just flown 5 hours from a cold NJ to vegas, so that probably had something to do with it! There was also a high end mexican place in Mandalay (not tacos...) if you like Mexican.

The Venetian has a couple of good Italian places. (names on the Venetian website, sorry). There was also an awesome Mexican place at MGM Grand... can you tell I like Mexican?

The steak at the Vegas Palm was good, but not memorable. The cream spinach on the other hand was sooooooo good that I bought the Palm Restaurant Cookbook.

I tend to be very laid back on service in restaurants. There are only a few things a waiter/tress can do to 'ruin' his/her tip. I don't want them to dote on me, but if I have to ask them for something more than once, it starts coming out of there pockets. Dropping the check before I ask for irks me too.

If I feel like I'm being rushed (which almost never happens), I might make a comment like "so what do you need to get home to watch Survivor or something? Buy a TiVo." Most of the dinners we have at these places are very expensive, and my group also likes good wine. We're not going anywhere, and we let them know that we'll leave when we're done.

I want to try BlueZoo in Aug. I've eaten at the others you mentioned and they're all fine restaurants. My favorite of that group is FFC. We're staying at the Beach Club in Aug, so I'm sure we're going to eat there one night.

BTW- If Jiko doesn't become your favorite restaurant, I'd be surprised. CG is great, but busy and boisterous. Jiko is busy, but intimate.

wow - I never really thought of it but now that I have - the only country I havent eaten in is Morrocco! and since noone but me really wants to try that one - I guess we'll never make that goal.
