Hi all-
I'm thinking of taking my mother to the afternoon tea at the GF on our trip in December. Could any of you who have been please fill me in on what the experience was like (the food, the service, the atmosphere, etc)? Is there another restaurant at the monorail resorts that you would actually recommend more to me and my dear mom? It'll be a few hours before MVMCP on 12/6. I'm new to the boards and could use advice for this trip...
Thanks so much!

I loved the afternoon Tea. Hubby and I did this while my two DD's were at the Wonderland Tea Party. We really enjoyed it. The tea sandwiches were not very tasty, in my opinion, (too bland) but everything else was delicious. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was casual. The tea room is very pretty, with large arched windows and beautiful table settings. I think it would be a great mother/daughter date. I plan on going again.

You and your mother will love having the tea at the GF. My mother, daughter, son and I went back in 1999. We all loved it! Everyone but my daughter had the grand tea, which included your tea, tea sandwiches, scones with raspberry jam and cream and desserts and sparkling wine for mom and I and sparkling grape or apple juice for my son. My daughter had hot chocolate and dessert as she was not feeling well.
We had a nice relaxed meal, you are not hurried and the service was wonderful.
We came out of there stuffed!

My mother and I had it in May. It was wonderful.
First we were served our chice of tea... I chose their special blend served hot. DM had iced raspberry tea.
Then we were served our sandwiches
One was a chicken and almond salad
Another was a smoked salmon
one was an herbed cheese and water cress I beleive
the last one excapes me right now.
This also included a tomatoe tartlet
Next course was scones with jam and devonshire cream and jam tarts.
The desert course was a choice of 2 pastries or strawberries and cream. I had a bananna creme swan and a chocolate cream eclair. DM had the strawberries and cream.

The service was great. We arrived at opening (2pm) without a ps and were seated right away.

Well, I guess we're going to the afternoon tea! It sounds great.

Thanks a bunch for your input!

We booked the deluxe magic package which includes your meals. Is it possible to use the dining feature here as one of your meals???
