I'm thinking of finally upgrading to a smartphone, and I've been reading good things about this phone. I'd like to hear from some people who have one what they think of it. We're on Verizon, so an iphone isn't an option unless we switch carriers, btw.

I don't have one yet, but I plan to get one when I am eligible for an upgrade on July 2nd. I have heard nothing but great things about this phone. You can read a review of it on Cnet.com.

Thanks, I've read the Cnet review and many others, and like you said, it sounds awesome!

Looks like a cool phone, but I have no interest is paying the additional $30/month for the data plan Verizon requires you to add to use a smart phone.

Don't all carriers have extra charges for smartphones?

It's better than the $9.99 plan they slap on so many messanging phones...

I love my Droid Eris (also HTC). I didn't like the incredible's joystick/button thingy.

I've had a Motorola Droid (also on Verizon) since the first day of release in November and LOVE it!

I wasn't patient enough to wait for the Incredible...I'm pretty happy w/ my Droid! :lovestruc

You may be right. I believe Verizon started the requirement and others have followed. I don't know if all carriers require it now, but AT&T and Sprint seem to.

I have an Incredible!

I had a motorola droid for a month, and then got the Incredible. I'll list what I like and don't like on the incredible phone...
Like:
Favorite people I call or text (nice, without having to go into my address book)
I like the big clock on the front
Lightweight and smaller than droid
Speed of the internet, browsing, downloading things
Camera is better

Dislike:
Battery life
Signal bars (not sure if its related to signal strength... there's a big controversy over that right now)
In the sun, its hard to see the screen when you have it set on low
Power button (don't like the location)
volume button (don't like the location)
The back button seems like its in the wrong place (compared to the droid)
Phone sound isn't as clear as droid

If anyone has questions... ask away :)

I tried to buy one this weekend and was told that it would be months (as in plural) before they can guarantee them in stock. I guess the demand was much higher than anticipated.

So would you say that you are glad you changed phones?

I've had mine for a few weeks. I love it! The only real issue I have is the battery life. Otherwise, I highly recommend it over the Motorola Droid. It's far less bulky, seems much faster and no clunky keyboard to worry about. I absolutely LOVE HTC products. My DH has a Droid Eris and his has been great. I'm so happy to have made the transition to a smart phone. I seriously don't know what I did w/o it!

Let me know if you have any questions.
