MY DH and I are re-doing our bedroom. We have plans of hanging a flat screen TV on the wall and was wondering what we have to do to prep the wall area in order to hang it ?

Make absolutely certain you bolt it into the wall studs, not just the drywall. We have several Plasma screens which I hung here at work and believe me, those suckers are heavy. They are very clear that you must fasten them SECURELY to the wall stud -- and mount them with real screws (not drywall screws). Other than that, it's a breeze. If you have a stud finder, it's really easy. If not, carefully look at your baseboard molding. The carpenter who installed it should have nailed the top of the trim into the studs behind. You can use that as a guide and remember standard framing is 16" on center, so once you figure out where one stud is, if you measure 16 inches left or right, you should have the next stud...

This is what we want to do, too!!!!!!

I think it would be so much better than the t.v.. which is currently taking up space on our chest of drawers.

we dont have them at home, but we have a few hanging up at work. My manager hung them up without a problem. ( if anyone knew him, they would understand) he bought a wall mounting kit for them all though

We bought a wall mounting set up from Circuit City when we got the tv. They sell them for various sizes and weights and also dependant on whether you want vertical and/or horizontal movement. The stud finder is a must, after that its fairly straightforward.
