DH and I are looking into purchasing one of these and I'm looking to get some opinions from people that already own them.

What do you think of it? Do you like it? Pros? Cons?

Thanks! :goodvibes

I hope no one... that's just my opinion though. check out www.edmunds.com

I don't know why people on here have to be rude. :sad2: Why is it so hard if you don't have anything to add just move on. :confused3

OP, I like the Traverse. If we were in the market for a new vehicle, I would seriously consider one.

I don't know anyone with one, but my neighbor has an Acadia and loves it.

did i not offer up a good tool for new car purchasing? my being rude is your opinion much like my dislike for GM vehicles. :) this world's a funny place ain't it? :thumbsup2 frankly, i feel you're being rude.

and another article on the traverse: http://www.leftlanenews.com/chevrolet-traverse-quick-spin.html

And why am I being rude? Because I called you on your behavior? You could have offered the article and left it at that. Plain and simple. Just because you dislike American cars doesn't mean we all do. Could be, I dislike the make of car you choose to drive, but I don't bash it everytime a thread is started about it, like you do with every thread about American cars.

Get over yourself and move on!

every thread? haha come on. stop your generalizing and your whining and let's stop hi jacking this thread.

I already have, but thanks for the opinion. :thumbsup2

I think they look great.

I think they look great too!! I have been eyeing the GMC Acadia/Saturn Outlook/Buick for over a year now, but we still need the Suburban to tow the boat. This is the same body type as the Chevy.

We bought a new Mailbu for me/daughter to share and my husband got a Saturn Vue this past year. We really like Chevy/GM products. Our Suburban is 2002 and has well over 100,000 miles and is still running well (only repair has been an oxygen sensor this past year).

Have you checked out Consumer Reports? I like their car ratings.

Let me if you want more info - I subscribed to their online stuff and would be glad to check it out for you if you want.

My land, RUN from that vehicle.
Go with....
Honda, Toyota, Nissan , Mazda , Subaru , VW , BMW etc.
You buy from the "big 3" you buy junk.

Chevy makes a great product. My car has 125,000 miles on it and has never been in the shop for more than an oil change and tires.

Thank You for this link. Here are just a few of the great reviews from owners. This just might be my next vehicle too. ::yes::

2009 Chevrolet Traverse LT2 4dr SUV (3.6L 6cyl 6A)

Review

The Traverse handles much better than the other GM "clones" and the new direct injection engine revs so quick and willingly. Mileage is running 19/20 overall except when my son drives it and then it drops 2 mpg. Traded in a 2008 Mazda CX-9 and this is a far better vehicle.

Favorite Features

Engine provides quick power for merging.

Suggested Improvements

Give us a 288 HP model in the LT series

2009 Chevrolet Traverse LT2 4dr SUV AWD (3.6L 6cyl 6A)

Review

This SUV is an eye opener for what it delivers to it's driver. I've purchased driven a number of GM products over the past 18 years, and love how the quality and features that GM provides has grown continueally during that time. Yes, they used to be bad 20 years ago. But today, wow! Do not miss out on trying a Traverse before you buy anything. Even the dealership experience was the best I've ever had too. I'm moving from a full size pickup to this mid-sized SUV. Originally planned to buy a Tahoe, but the economy has downsized my buying ability slightly. Thank goodness GM made this SUV, it fits perfectly!

Favorite Features

The ride must not be missed, it is excellent. The nav system is very nice and quick to respond to controls. Room inside the Trav is actually bigger than a Tahoe! The remote auto-start has a nice feature with also auto-adjusting air/heat/seat heat/defroster depending on outside temp. Wow!

Suggested Improvements

I tried hard, but really can't think of anything. I did notice one very slight misallignment on dash parts, so what. And, I'd like to see a small increase in the rear DVD screen size. Overall though, this vehicle is amazing.

We just purchased our Traverse last month. I drove it over 800 miles during the Thanksgiving weekend. So far, we love it! Smooth, quiet, roomy, and with the leather and LT2 package, luxurious. Kids are comfortable in all seats (16 year old son is almost 6 foot). Ride quality is tight and free of any shakes or rattles. Great time to buy with GM adding bonus money I would definitely recommend one to family or friends.

Favorite Features

Smoothness of the ride, bluetooth phone feature, turn by turn nav system is simple to use and outstanding. Engine/transmission combo operate very well. Great looks. I could go on but you get the idea. I'm very happy with it.

Suggested Improvements

Nothing has come up. A great package.

Fortunately, when you say something this outrageous, your words don't carry much weight.

As I wrote in an earlier post. :sad2: Same people in every American car post.

Again! :sad2: I run from all foreign car makers because we think they're junk since our GMs have all run to over 200,000 and our current one is well on its way. We like BMW but since they have nothing that compares size and pricewise to GM, its an unfair comparison.

Fortunately, when you say something this outrageous, your words don't carry much weight.

Couldn't agree more :thumbsup2

And has nothing to do with this post but...... GO STEELERS!

OP, I don't think you can go wrong with that car. I love, love, love the styling, and GM's been getting better gas mileage out of their new vehicles than their competitors in the same class.

We also drive GM vehicles. My DH's last 2 cars? Both traded in - still running -with 375,000 miles and 280,000 miles on them. Neither had ANY problems other than routine maintenance. His car now has been fine as well.

I've got my eye on the Traverse or the Vue for my next vehicle (which won't be for a couple years).

We bought the Buick Enclave, the Buick version of Traverse last year. It drives like a dream. Very smooth. It also has a lot of storage room.

well, speaking as someone who loves Chevy vehicles, I was very disappointed in the Traverse. I was really looking forward to it coming out and was seriously considering trading in my Venture.

I went in for the test drive and didn't like how I couldn't see out the rearview window. Yes, it has a rearview camera but the back window is so small that I found it very hard to back up and see where I was going. I couldn't even locate the fire hydrant behind me and ran up on a curb trying to do a 3 point turn.

I learned to drive in a mini-van and a cargo van. I thought I would LOVE the Traverse. I was very disappointed. I need to be able to see out the back to drive it. I couldn't out the window or with the rearview and I can't drive like that.

I lvoe Chevy and liked everything else about it.
