Ok so this is probably a silly question with a really simple answer. But I was flipping channels tonight and Who Framed Roger Rabbit was on...seen it a million times so I turned it and my 2 yr old shouts RABBIT! So I turn it back and she watched it. (Mind you she refuses to watch ANYTHING except Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so it was good for a change to watch something different). I then noticed how Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, etc. are in the same movie as Woody Woodpecker, Bugs, and Tweety. Now my question is, is it just me who finds it odd that competing companies are in the same movie? Hmm.....any thoughts guys?

Yup, an amazing bit of negotiating there - but so worth it. We love that movie!

If I remember right Michael Eisner didn't want it to be obvious that it was a "Disney" movie, so they did work hard to get all of the studios' characters involved. Also why it was a Touchstone release, and why you didn't see the name Disney connected to it until after it proved to be a hit.

:)
I love that movie

I remember when DHS was first opened, and you got off the backlot tour, there was a warehouse that had a bunch of RR stuff and magic trick props for sale.

Great flick. Wikipedia has a good article on it, including the observation that the early development predates Eisner. Quite an accomplishment to assemble all of the buy-in required. Also, as the article says the Red Car plot, suburb expansion and urban political corruption really did happen". Sad, but true. This area used to have a highly functional rapid transit system that was replaced by freeways. You can see a map of it at the crossroads of Sunset and Hollywood Blvd in DHS.
