Another BEAUTIFUL cake!.....Im so glad I DONT live too close to you...Id weigh 200 lbs....

Its been a very nice weekend for me...Mike took yesterday off, and we did some shopping in town and then just drove around the countryside...Very enjoyable day!

Today wont be as fun...I have to bring my car in to get my powersteering fixed...I have a leak, and have to put fluid in every time I take the car out....
So Im bringing it into my sons. He will fix it for me at his shop...Im not sure how long it will take...Not too long I hope...

When's the last time the sister's were together?

John told me he was thinking about when he gets his settlement from his broken elbows he wants to send me to FL for a few weeks! I'd rather it be with him tho - he said he'd stay behind for work. IMHO, I'd take a week alone with him on a DCL cruise over two months in FL without him~

Actually we have had several different meetings of people on this thread.

I have met quite a few of the threadkillers myself.

It was great

So far, not an ax murderer in the whole bunch

I've always wondered how the meets work. Is it only for people in a certain area? I can't imagine someone flying out for one

Oh yes, we have flown out to meet DISers.

Just last year in September we had a get together with me, Betsy, Ann, Ann's two sisters Susan and Mary, Colleen and Cally at Disney (along with other various and assorted family members who came along for the fun)

In January of 2007 we did a Threadkiller 4 day Disney Wonder cruise with myself and my husband, Ann and Tom, Susan and Mary and Betsy and Mike. (along with a bunch of other really nice DISers that we met up with on our cruise thread over on the Cruise board)

It was great

I've driven to Chicago and met up with KimRaye before and we've also met half way.

Betsy and Mike and my daughter Liz and I got together at Niagara Falls a couple summers back for a weekend.

There have been other meetings amongst various other groups of the threadkillers too.

So yes, we ARE crazy enough to fly out or drive long distances to get together.

I wish we could do it again real soon.

There are also other "general" dismeets that are held in cities all around the world.

Those are usually open to any DISers who want to go and meet up in person with others they have met on line.

The September meet Robin spoke of was cool cause all of us were at WDW simultaneously.

Most of us had planned to be there already so the others decided to join us.

The year I cruised on DCL, I drove down with my Mom and DD and Ann's sister Susan offered us a room for the night if we wanted to stop and visit them in Jacksonville. That was really cool too! We got the Hotel treatment complete with our own sets of towels and shampoos/lotions. The Threadkillers did a pollyanna that year so we all opened our gifts while I was there. We timed when those not in FL would get online with us. We girls all had dinner out together and then watched Polar Express to cap off the evening. I'd do that again in a heartbeat~

The organized gatherings are totally different than our TKer meets.
