Morning TKer's!!!!

Sounds like pure Heaven Brenda...can you maybe sign up for wipe swap so you and I can switch lives for a couple weeks? We could be East Coast vs West Coast lives.

You could learn what it's like to be a stay at home mom that spends her time going to school and taking photographs, that has a husband that cooks and vacations with you and take you to the Flea Market on Sundays that has two grown children and a FIL a dog a cat and a fish in the house.

And I could see what going to the Spa and having a corporate job on the coast with a husband who lets her travel all over the world but doesn't like to go that has only one child and no pets in the house is like.

:wizard:  :flower3:

I really like having friends who travel, I seriously live vicariously thru all of you...being in DLP with you and DD recently TLM was an incredibly fun journey~I learn new things thru all of you as well.

like DU is truly patient and generous man to willingly live in his world for *any* amount of time.
oh my life 'at home' is rather dull & boring...but i do love my little travel excursions...and the really wonderful thing about Calif is that i can go anywhere within in about 5 hours....from here - i have tahoe - yosemite- san francisco - monterey - carmel - disneyland - palm springs & i am STILL hoping for a time that you & Aisling come out to visit!

Morning all.

Liz and I are planning a shopping trip across the border in Michigan today.

I'm not sure when we are leaving yet.

Received the sad news yesterday that my SIL was given a prediction of 2 to 6 months to live without treatment or up to a year with treatment.

Her cancer is back everywhere.

Apparently she feels okay now and I think she will probably opt for no or little treatment because it made her so sick last time.

She said, why spend my last bit of time laying on the sofa throwing up all day long:confused3

Also she lives alone now and it would be very hard to be sick and be alone.

I do think that she is going to try a couple of treatments (the doctor suggested it) to see if they make her so sick this time. If not then she might continue with them.

Such a sad thing but my mom says that she seems calm enough and has everything in order.
oh Robin - i am so sorry to hear this...
Inside/Under the tree!

LOVED 'HOOK'!:thumbsup2
Hook is DEFINITELY one of my favorites!!!

From the local newspaper:
"St. Francis’ players and coaches said it after the Monte Vista Christian game. And after Soledad. And Stevenson, and even after Aptos:

“No more flukes,” coach Joe Gregorio said.

Gregorio’s Sharks proved they belong with the big boys, as they knocked off yet another Santa Cruz Coast Athletic league rival in Soquel High, the defending co-champion, 27-18 at Cabrillo College. “This is keyed by a strong senior class that is laying a foundation for this school,” Gregorio said."

Such an exciting season for Ryan - his senior friends & the whole team as well as parents & entire St Francis community!
This is HUGE for our boys & our school as it's their 4th year with a FB team, and 3rd year in a 'Calif league'. Lasy year's record was 0-10 - so far we're 5-1!!!:woohoo: :yay:

Congratulations to the boys Brenda.

It's nice when they can do something like that.

Makes them feel so special, doesn't it.

ZJO Threadkillers!

Robin - I'm SO sorry to hear your sad news. P&PD to you and yours :wizard: .

CADZ - Congratulations on your good news!

I hope everyone else is having a good day. I tend not to go to the Disney store. Since it's no longer owned by Disney - there is a big change in merchandise. I'm lucky enough to live close enough to hit WDW a few times a year.

I've got a pic of dinner last night. I decided to make crab cakes. But, since I'm allergic to crab, I made chicken cakes with parmesan & green onions and made a garlic, peppercorn ranch for dipping sauce. Here it is:

Here's the one I took before it made it to the table - this was Tom's...

Here's at the table...this one was mine!

That makes me so happy! Usually everytime I bring up Hook people are like "that's a terrible movie!" I'm just like  you people have no souls :rotfl:
WHHHHAAATTTTT???? what the heck is so terrible??? geesshh - oh well - glad we all love it!!!!:goodvibes

Congratulations to the boys Brenda.

thanks Robin & yes it sure does!! We (the senior moms) are planning a special surprise celebration for them next month the week of the last game...

Do you have any special "anniversary plans" that you're celebrating this wkend?

Yes you are very lucky that you live so close.

If I lived that close I'd be able to visit many time during the year:thumbsup2

Your dinner looks lovely.

How do you make chicken cakes??

Do you used ground meat or chicken breast?

Do you have any special "anniversary plans" that you're celebrating this wkend?

We are planning on driving to Windsor (which is right next door to Detroit;) ) tomorrow afternoon.

The kids are taking us out to the Caesars Casino in Windsor for buffet dinner.

They have a wonderful buffet at the casino and we are planning on getting there early enough to take advantage of the lunch prices instead of the dinner prices. So we are aiming to arrive before 4pm.

Then I will be off finding my favourite slot machine to make my donation :teeth:

People just can't appreciate it like us Disney fans can ;)

Hollyann - I'm going to kidnap you and have you be my personal chef :rotfl:

Robin - your plans sound like a lot of fun! I used leftover rotisserie chicken - it surprisingly had the exact same look and texture as a regular crab cake.

SWTHD - I'll be happy to be your chef, but no seafood or cinnamon! Oh...I'll also need someone to do the dishes - they're not fun.

You can come here Ann.

I don't like seafood and I don't really care if I have cinnamon or not.

And oh yes, I own a dishwasher;)

Prayers & :wizard: being asked for Melissa.

Heard some very sad news today. An aquaintence (friend of friends. I knew these people from kids parties etc) DD was diagnosed when she was 14 with cancer. She was doing very well, so well tat this past simmer (she is 16 now) she worked at the local Chilis. I heard today that in the past month her cancer came back. It has fused her spine, she is now blind & deaf. The Hospital released her yesterday, so she can end her life at home.:guilty:

This girl became very good friends with the Presidents Daughter Jenna. Jenna does charity work with Cancer patients. So much so that the Secret Service came a few times and picked Melissa up (she lives in NJ) and fly her to the White House for lunches, dinner etc!

DU - I'm sorry to hear your sad news. Of course she'll be in my prayers. You and Robin have had some real shocks this week.

Robin & Andy - your threadkiller friends are here for you...don't forget! :grouphug:

Robin & SWTHD - Why don't we just come over to my house - bring your chocolate and help with the dishes and I'll cook for both of you. Anyone else want to come along?

Oh, Andy, how very very sad that is.

That poor girl.

Can you imagine being blind and deaf after you've been living a fairly normal life.

She is basically locked up in her body with no way to communicate.:guilty:

I can't even imagine how scared she is:sad1:

Ann, you know I'd be there in a hearbeat:thumbsup2

We're back from gorgeous, sunny LA/Hollywood! :sunny: What a whirlwind couple of days! WORTH IT!! :thumbsup2

Robin, so sorry about your SIL. Sounds like what my Aunt went through. {{HUGS}}

We have walked the Red Carpet! :cheer2:

More later. ;)

Can't wait to hear all about it Kim.

I'm so glad to hear that you all had a great trip.

I'm drained, exhausted, and still awake - I must be on CA time!!

So, as I said, We are back! We have walked the Red Carpet! We have seen HSM3! :thumbsup2 No spoilers here. I couldn't anyway, I was dozing off now and then during the movie :rolleyes1 - Hey, there's the time difference and all - give this old lady a break, please. FUN TIME tho!!!

I woke up at 4am Thursday morning, followed by Kelly, then DH, we left at 5:15 to pick up niece. Left about 5:35 from their house, arrived at O'Hare at 6 maybe, for a 7:30am flight. Checked in, only to find our 1st flight was delayed 1-1/2 hours! That meant our connecting flight was also delayed/changed (but bumped to 1st class - oh well ;) )! PANIC tho! Xanax, thank you. We are now arriving at LAX at 4, for a 6pm premiere!!! :scared1: I almost didn't even leave O'Hare, why bother? We'd never make it. Well, we did what we could, and what we had to (changed clothes in Houston's airport bathroom), hired a cab from LAX ($60), instead of taking the free shuttle (1-1/2 hours + from LAX), and made the 6pm premiere check-in time by 15 minutes. From there, we waited. Long story short, the girls LOVED EVERY MINUTE!! And, they LOVED the movie! :thumbsup2 (Mom needed her Xanax tho before we left Chicago! :sad2: )

Lots of freebies, too! Our Guest passes, of course. HSM3 popcorn buckets and drink, pom-poms (sp?), sandwiches from Sara Lee, temporary tatoos (I even got one!), and they 'shot' t-shirts into the audience at various times before and after the movie, and Kelly got one! :yay: It was a long, long, LONG day/night, but well worth it! :woohoo:

We went to Hollywood on Friday, and also enjoyed that day as well! FUN!! Saw a LOT, in a little time. Hollywood & Highland area, Walk of Fame, Graumann's, Kodak and El Capitan Theaters, ate at Mel's Drive In (American Graffiti fame) for lunch, and Disney's Soda Fountain and Store for dinner/dessert. Took a City Pass tour, which included 4 different things - wax museum, Max Factor museum, a walking tour (EXCELLENT!), and a cheesey 2 hour 'Hollywood Homes' tour that, in the end, while the homes could have been ANYONE'S, the tour itself took us up high as close as we could get to the 'HOLLYWOOD' sign, and also through Beverly Hills, Bel Air, down Rodeo & Beverly Drives, through more of Hollywood, etc. - it was just $$ well spent, to see so much in 1 day! :thumbsup2

Way tired - must go! :laundy: to do Sunday!! :rolleyes1

I'd do it all over again, in a heartbeat! :goodvibes

Bye for now! Thanks for reading! :grouphug:

Sounds like an awesome trip Kiminy!! So glad you got to see so much~

Brenda, I am working on that trip with Aisling ~ sloooowly...

Andy, that is such sad news. I am thankful every day for what I've got no matter how sucky things may seem - always because I know it could be worse :(

for tomorrow:

Happy Anniversary Robin & Rick!!!!
Happy Birthday Kiminy and Brenda!!!!

SWTD, you are absolutely in the right company if you want to talk to people who love Disney as much as you do ~

Ann, Disney bought all their stores back this past summer! :woohoo: The transition was complete about a month or so ago. Disney closed about a third of what they bought back tho. Alot of folks lost their local stores because of this. Disney must do just fine in my area tho cause I still have 2 in malls nearby *and* an outlet store about a half hour away.

Hubby, Sis, BIL and I had a nice day at the Faire yesterday. It was SIS and BILs first time and they really enjoyed it. We pretty much let them lead the way since we'd been there so many times before. Laurie (sis) took the pictures for the day and has already sent them over. I'll share my link as usual once I get them all loaded up.

Happy Sunday my Threadkillers
