Who feels like a Threadkiller....Take 3!

We of course have crime and drugs and teenage pregnancies here too.

But we rarely have any of the really nasty stuff.

Murders do happen here but infrequently enough that it is big news when it does.

My Chatham is mainly a rural small city. Lots of farming and smaller industries although we do have some bigger factories. For one example we build large transport trucks (or lorries ) at the International/Navistar factory.

Lots of automotive type industry around here with our closeness to Detroit and other automobile building cities.

It sounds far nicer than my Chatham.

Then again I want to move to France! I'll be nearer to my DLP then.

We live south of New York City, East of Philadelphia and north of Washington DC...puhlenty of history, crime and stories to tell around here I am happy to be just outside of all of them in my little rural town. Actually, I live in Burlington Twp NJ, the City of Burlington has lots of history and dates back as far as Williamsburg and Philadelphia~

seriously, I've read nothing but that last line...something about hoping its value in scrap will pay for a trip to Disney for them

DU, stop that! It's four days away yet!

and this year is so sucky, it's the first I really am not looking forward to celebrating. My mom told my cruising friends of the upcoming "holiday." I stopped myself from yelling at her cause they all seemed to glance over it. Thank goodness.

Penny's vet check up was good. Mika's ashes are prominently on display. I took pics of her cedar box and gold plate and will post them when I get them loaded.

It's rainy and crappy here. I've been watching the weather in Galveston, it's gettin ugly. The weather channel said that only about half the residents of the island have fled. What are they stupid?!?! Ike is 500 miles across!!!!

They bought a house built in 1924, and found this huge Safe in the back of the basement, it was hidden. No Locksmith can open it. Nobody knows what is inside it! Its a DISboard MYSTERY! Turned into a FUN thread too

We're headed to the Akita Picnic today

where Akita owners bring their dogs to a BBQ type event.

Akita Rescues are represented there.

Mika's breeder is being recongnized as a HUGE help in the saving of Akitas from shelters and finding them foster and permanent homes. The link in my sig is the one Jo and Matt work for. If you look at the pictures of "Juju" John's best friend Matt is holding and playing with him. They saved Juju from starvation. He came to them at 45 pounds - Juju should have been 120 and almost died. When I last checked Juju is 105 pounds and being adopted by those same friends.

I wanna go see puppies!

The rescue already approved us for adoption, we just have to wait for a baby Akita to become available.

HI Threadkillers! Sorry I've been MIA...just busy. I attended the cake decorating class and I'm in LOVE! I just love baking, so I figured cake decorating would go hand-in-hand, but I didn't realize what a good fit it would be.

Robin - no problem-o! Yes, I went to McDonalds (and again tonight) and the movies, but otherwise spent a pretty quiet day. I did meet my twin brother for dinner that night..that was fun. Isn't yours the 16th? or is it the 21st? I don't write things down (sorry).

TW - Your pics are adorable and I hope you're feeling better today. Did you enjoy the akita picnic? I'll be at WDW on your birthday...so Happy Birthday early!

DU - I have the thread opened, I'll check it in a second...sounds like fun, tho! How have you been?

PD - I've seen that pic of Fr. Mike that you're talking about. I hope you get the opportunity to post it.

LM83 - I hope your tunnel opens up soon. You're gonna have such a good time at Disney Paris. My DS and his wife (then fiance) spent some time there and had a great time. She was in Paris at Le Cordon Bleu (she's a pastry chef).

CADZ - are you recovered from your walk yet? We've not heard from you for a couple of days.

DP - did you decide to do the landing yet? Is the tiling around your stove finished? How is everyone?

Hi Cally, nsalz, Kim & anyone else I missed! If you don't hear from me next week - don't worry! DH & I are meeting friends on Monday, I'm going to DS's for a slumber/sleep over (read: KARAOKE Baby!) Tuesday, Disney Wednesday, back to SWHNN's and then cake decorating (which I have to bake for) Thursday. I think I'll rest on Friday!
