Boy this thread came close that time to being lost in cyberspace way back on page 3, wow! Really makes you stop and think, doesnt it? Just surfing along, reading post and in the meantime, this thread just suddenly slips away. Quitely, with grace. Where does the time go? One day its a lovely little thread, just barely able to stand on its own feet, the next day its 14 pages long. Soon, it will be off on its own, maybe blessed with little links of its own.

Ya know, way over yonder on one of them thar first pages, I said that I almost felt like nobody knew who I was, lo and behold, some 11 or 12 pages later, I'm on my very first list! LOL....ah the power of cheese.....um, err, I mean the DIS!

Now if you all will excuse me, all this talk about tombstones and cheese has made me hungry!

Just out of curiousity - what's the longest thread "about nothing" (a la Seinfeld) thus far on the DIS? Water? YaYa? In other words, how many times do we need to resuscitate this little thread? (Not that there's anything wrong with that!)

I would imagine the longest thread would be the Ya Ya's? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. The shortest however whould be something I posted to then it Died!

We used to have a "rule of thumb" on the Host Board that a thread gets shut down after 150 pages. Then people are free to start them up again on another thread.

The Swan Dolphin Cheerleaders have the longest running on-going thread (s).

We have quite a ways (and a number of years) to go to get close to them.

And actually philaround, the Swan Dolphin Cheerleader Thread has had COUNTLESS reincarnations. They get closed at 150 pages and then start a new thread right back up!

They have had an on-going thread, in various incarnations, going on the Resort - and now the Community Board - for several years!

But it certainly IS something to aspire to!
