Sure....there are multiple colored placic sticks....thin and long... jumbled into a pile...you have to puck a certain color out of the pile without disturbing ANY of the other sticks...

with great concentration.....unbelievable dexterity..and flair galore....I am able to pluck the designated stick from a variety of positions....even in the wind and the rain......with my left or right hand...

examples: from under the table using a mirror...or sometimes with the assistance of someone elses eyes...




the old "under the leg"....self explanatory.....

the "double pluck"....one stick with the right hand and POW!...as soon as that clears...the second stick with my left...



the "flip stick"...not observed in ALL "pick up stick" venues...this is where you make your pluck...leaving just the barest part of the pointy tip in the jumble...you have to declare the "flip" and wait for a nod from the judge...then...using the pointy tip...flip a stick of the designated color...and you MUST catch it in mid flip...otherwise...the dreaded DQ...disqualification...

Any old....
the local phone company disabled the 'pay" part on the phone..

we have been allowed to "personalize" ours...I have pictures of the family...a battery operated wall clock....some curtains....a welcome mat outside the door...and a squeegee....i keep the rest of the cleaning supplies on top....

Ok, Ok, I know what pick up sticks ARE (DD loves them) but, it was the MOVES I was wondering about!

And, I'm not sure if those are rule-approved moves or not, BP. But, they were hysterical!

...as KimRaye pointed out....you held the title of "thread killer" for 6 1/2 hours....give or take a few minutes...

I think it's time to merge my Square Dance Group with Brer-Papa's Yodelers/Pipers. We use those phone booths and a party line also.

The Brer-Caller first gets everyone on the line and the Brer-Dancers start up. Since we are always moving we can't be identified by the towel racks or waste baskets so Brer-Caller has come up with his own identification system. As soon as we figure out exactly what that system is we may stop running into each other.

Pretty soon we are going to need a score card to keep all of these Brer people straight!!!!

Can you square dance to a Brer Yodeler group??????
