Happy Monday TKer's....we are still getting some nice warm weather today...but then the clouds...cooler weather & even rain are supposed to show by Wednesday.....oh well - it was great while it lasted

Good Morning all,

We had a great Easter...The weather was good, so we had our hunt...the winners were...Julia,(she won a word game, I think it was call "last word")
in the oldest group..Victoria,(the prize was a handheld elec. quiz game)in the mid aged group, and David in the youngest group( he won a magna doodle/workbook)...
They all of course got there baskets, with assort. toys and candy..also a stuffed animal in each...The older girls got fake nails and lip gloss as there "toys"

Dinner was very good and Mike did most of the cooking...:cool1: I did the clean up after...and all I can say is we have a ton of food left, even tho a ton was eaten..We always make too much:teeth:

KIM!...Its good to see you!.:goodvibes ..What a surprise...and very nice surprise!:thumbsup2

Another nice surprise....HELLO PD!:wave2:..
So glad to hear the weather is good and you are enjoying your trip!

Robin,
That is a awsome trailer...BIG!...Very nice indeed....It would be sooo GREAT to meet you at the FWCG...If only I could talk Mike into pulling the RV that far...He says until he gets a newer truck ...We will have to stay fairly close to home...He finds with the truck he has now he tends to go through to much oil when he pulls the RV..:confused3 ...Its a 1/2 ton which should be alright, but it IS an older truck...
I cant complain too much...If it were up to me to pull it...the RV wouldnt leave the driveway..I panic when I have to drive his truck without anything attached to it...:scared:
You will have a blast in it:thumbsup2 ...and just think how irritated the guy across the street will be:lmao: ....when you park it in front of his house....LOL:rotfl2: :upsidedow

DU,
Sounds like you could have fed a small army with that ham...If you DO make that bean soup...Ya better invite me....I just LOVE that kind of soup...and Im not really a soup eater...canned soup is something I only eat if there is nothing else in the house.......BUT homemade soup....YUM!...and a hardy homemade ham/bean soup!...DOUBLE YUM!:goodvibes

Well I better go check and see what my Mom is up too...:3dglasses
I also have a ton of laundry :laundy: to do today...Did ALOT of cleaning the last few days of last week...but I left the laundry for AFTER the holiday...

BTW Kelly,:3dglasses
I wouldnt be too affraid...DU is a marshmallow....:cloud9:
How've you been doin?...:3dglasses

Brenda,

We have about a little over 250 residents... I am in charge of two halls.. one with 10 and the other with 20 residents.

I guess it would be considered small? :confused3

We seperate the diningrooms... the residents that can feed themselves go to one and then we have another diningroom for the ones who need help.

Oh, it is very interesting. I find myself smiling and laughing everyday. ;) Other times I go home wondering if I will ever end up like that and be dependent on others.

We have a married couple in there but they are in seperate rooms. The husband is really not there anymore :guilty: but the wife is but needs help with daily living activities. She stays with him all day and talks to him. It's very heartwarming and sad at the same time. I find myself wondering what will become of me in the future ..what will become of my husband.. who will visit me... etc.... :confused3

Makes you think....

Princessa, I worked in a residence like that for many years, and finally had to quit two summers ago. Although I knew my work was a godsend for those people, it began to make me very depressed, and I'd think about them all the time, even while at home. And it made me worry about what will happen to me when I get old or ill. It's still affecting me, as I get bad anxiety when I go to hospitals or residential care facilities. I just want to tell you you're doing God's work, and give you my 100% support. Not everyone can do what you're doing, and not to sound corny, but thank you for what you do.

Wow, lots of people dropping in today.

 Nice to see you all again :thumbsup2

Those are fantastic! My dad's been into model aircraft since the 1930's, and just completed building a Stearman Biplane with and actual radial engine he had purchased from some dealer in Japan. He dosn't fly them too often, being 85 his eyes and hands don't react like they used to. Flying them takes a LOT of skill, and I'm sure the both of have fun when you travel. When you have purchased your tow vehicle, and begin to travel, let me know I'll be waiting in front of my house, bags packed ready to go.:rolleyes1

We have a man around here who is also 85 and flew forever.

Now he also does not fly often but occasionally. He cannot see well enough anymore either.

He will bring his airplane to the field and other guys will fly it for him, with him at the flight line beside them.

He may not be able to fly much but he still likes to see his airplane fly when he gets the chance.

It's nice that the guys are willing to do that for him.:goodvibes

He's a great old guy, so that helps for sure.

DU, how's that SOG trip coming along? I've stayed there twice now, it's a pretty nice place. It is surrounded by two golf courses which means it has tons of animals around it early in the morning and at night. It's got a couple nice pools, the buffet breakfast and lunch are worthy - esp for the price. NOTHING has tax on it there!!! Even in the gift shop~

There buses are kinda lacking - my family always walked to the Poly if we wanted to catch a bus or the monorail somwhere (otherwise we drove ourselves.)

Happy Day After Easter Threadkillers!

Very nice to see Kiminy, Cally and even Kelly come out to say hi~

Ooops I see we posted pretty near to the same time.

No I did not take off in my trailer yet, although I was very close to it today:thumbsup2

I went shopping in Michigan with Liz today.

I have been promising to take her shopping in the "States" for a long time and she called me on it today.

So we spent the afternoon at a shopping mall. She did most of the shopping and I was just sort of along for the ride.

Now, where is everyone else today :confused3

I'm not much of a mall lover either.

I did manage to see a few Disney things while I was there though.

But not enough to really make it interesting enough:rotfl2:

Liz on the other hand just loves to shop:sad2:

I don't see the fascination:confused:

Kelly STILL talks about OUR trip to Michigan to meet you & Liz! She's still complaining about the many pitstops I made. I told her if traffic hadn't been what it was, and we had made it there in the proper amount of time, I wouldn't have HAD to make those pit stops!

Hello to All!!! :grouphug:
