So my DD(12) was supposed to audition for her middle school musical on Monday. SHe was so excited. SHe has been anticipating this for at least a month. So I was shocked when she walked home (by herself, which is totally against the rules) just a few minutes after school got out on Monday. Well it turns out she had a total panic attack and had stage fright about auditioning in front of everyone. She was crying because she wanted to be in the play, but was so intimidated about trying out. She kept saying "I know I'm going to regret this later, but it was too scary". She was so upset and I was absolutely heartbroken for her. The director is very familiar with her singing as she is also the chorus director, and had hinted heavily that DD would be getting a lead role. It was a very sad night around here. I was so sad for DD that I couldn't sleep.
Well Wednesday DD comes out of school with the biggest smile I've ever seen on her face! SHe had chorus on Wednesday and the teacher took her aside and said that she thought that DD just had stage fright, appently she's seen DD crying while DD was erasing her name from the audition list. SHe told her that she had a very strong and beautiful voice and that she needed her to be in the play. SHe said for a lead she would have to have a regular audition that day after school, but if she couldn;t do that and wanted to be in the chorus of the cast, she could audition privately for the teacher at lunch time. SHe said she really needed a strong singer to lead the chorus and would be happy if DD could help her out by auditioning at lunch. So DD auditioned and bnow she's in the play!
Today DD came home with all of the information about rehearsals etc. All rehearsals are mandatory....3 rehearsals are scheduled over Spring Break. We will be at WDW!

Now I have to e-mail the teacher to see if this is a problem. Send some Pixie Dust this way please!
DD(14) just got invited to see the Jonas Brothers in concert and meet them afterward. Apparently some kid at school is related to the Jonas Brothers somehow so has great tickets and then is seeing them afterward. This is in NJ and of course is also when we are at Disney. DD(14) wants to know if we can come back 5 days earlier than planned!

Sorry not happening. We saw the Jonas Bros. at AK in Sept 2006 (rode on Dinosaur with them) DD(14) is their biggest fan and was back in the days when no one had ever heard of them. SHe pointed them out in AK and I didn;t even know who they were. I said let's go talk to them. The park was empty and we were the only people around except for the Jonas Bros and a CM who was their guide. The girls would not go talk to them. This summer they played at a small local club (only holds a few 100 people when it's packed) and I took DDs and we were right up front. I told her she had chances to meet them already and that we are not cutting WDW short!
