I've been skimmin - but I wanted to post and let you know I'm thinking of you.

DU - I'm so sorry to hear about your friends FIL...hugs to you and your friend. BTW, I started to read that thread that you got flamed on - but I could only go so far.... I'd stick with Kim's reminder - stay away from those threads!

Kim - glad you're going to the game. Like you and a bunch of others - it's hard to believe it's October! It's a balmy 82 degrees today. I heard someone talking in the restaurant at b'fast this morning that the weather's turning cold!

Robin - I missed what you went to - a reunion? Dinner with your family? Your will power is great! I would have had a hard time staying away from cake...I LOVE cake!

TW - looks like you had a great time on your vacation! I agree - a business shouldn't rely so heavily on just one person...I'm in the same boat - I feel guilty for taking time off.

PC - we gotta have pics of your hair! Ya'll see how short mine is...I don't even go to a beauty shop - straight to a barber. Quicker that way!

Well, I was inspired this afternoon and made pizza. I made the crust and then pre-cooked it on the grill with a little bit of olive oil sea salt & cracked pepper on each side. Then I made a really good sauce (from scratch) and put fresh mozarella (the kind sitting in a tub of water), basil, tomato slices and shaved parmesan. Then put it back on the grill....Y-U-M!!! We have one left over and I think we're gonna have it for dinner! ONe of my better efforts if I do say so myself!

Tinknutt & her hubby are off to caress their RV....I'm excited for them - they're looking forward to this.

SWHNN has her in-laws here for the weekend. Truly some of the coolest people you will ever meet! I wanted to marry her DH's little brother just to have them for in-laws! Thank God that didn't happen! I got MY DH (the other guy - not so good) and my MIL was a gem.

Anyway, ya'll have a great day and I'm off to take a nap!

That pizza sounds so yummy! Def a recipe my husband would appreciate...for those who don't know, he's the Chef in my household...he is da Best! He's in there now making homemade chicken soup & boilin some shrimps~we got this spice, from a friend of mine and it is yummy! He wanted to make jambalaya but he and my fil couldn't find the zataran's

You are a replica of me in the work-place, my boss is very capable of running his own business and can do anything I do...it's the fact that he doesn't have to do it as long as I am there is why it bothers him. He's busy while I am on vacation, he has to actually work...

When I am there, he goes surfing once a week, leaves the store whenever the whim hits him, he goes out to dinner with his family cause I am there to cover the store...etcetera etcetera etcetera...

I carried over all my vacation from my job at his father's firm and reminded that I am only using what I have earned ... I earned it and I'm using it.
I asked him how he's gonna handle it when I have 4 weeks vacation

I messaged the boss last night that Rose and I already planned out next years' vacations and he is soooo not ready to let me go for 2 weeks at a time. My opinion? He needs to learn to function without me, no business should rely on someone as strongly as he relies on me...Right?

My opinion...tell him...Tuff cookies! (or any variation of that!)

This is coming from someone who just worked 6 days straight at 13 hours a day (we had some people out with llife emergancies, sickness & scheduled days off) way Too many scheduled customers....and BOTH my bosses took 2 days off to play golf!

And NOT one ever even bothered to call in, too check in...KNOWING how extremely bust things were!!!!!

Never again for me!!!

Vacation is the only time anymore that I can sit down and enjoy a whole book. The last two books I got were on audio...I listened to the latest Harry Potter with my Mom while traveling to Disney in Dec/Jan...and my newest DK is on audio, I've only listened to the first half so far tho-the cars I've been driving don't have a cd player in them. I tried copying it to my iRiver (mp3 player) and it didn't copy all the discs right

I cant do audio books....

. IPOD/MP3 STILL have alot of problems with keping track of files/music! They are by no means perfected yet! If ever. FYI! Apple 'invented" IPOD for music ONLY because they developed these chips that were too erratic too use in PC's! Ipods were a accident! And Ipod nano's are nothing more than broken IPODs! Apples gift is that they sell & market their broken stuff!

ps/ While I slept this am (worked all night) Mom decided to COOK! She made a meatloaf whiched looked ok....until I tasted it!!!!!! Me thinks she used a half pound of salt in it! Also my sister made Blackbean soup!

It then took me 1 hour to clean the kitchen....and I went out for dinner with my friend & his wife and 2 of their daughters (1 is my Godaughter sr in HS & 1 Birthday is Tuesday sr in college)

My Mom stole my retirement idea, she's gonna move to Orlando and work at Disney...she's only got 5 years to wait tho, I've got about 35

They are fine. Tired but fine! It was a tough year, he needed dyalisis every other day. Bob (sil) (since he works wacky shifts like me) did 90% of these. Lotsa of health issues, cancer, kidneys, diabetes, and finally lungs! More of a relief! In fact they were all with him in the hospice until 1:00am the other night. He passed at 2:00am. Bob said it was like he was waitinf for everyone to leave!
