let's talk leftovers...shall we?

Sorry no chicken finger left overs. Actually we didn't have very many to start with.

It was strange dinner..... some chicken fingers, some grilled cheese sandwiches and some seasoned french fries.

A little bit of everything, hope you liked something in this pile, kind of meal

I've gone back to look at the kitchen again. It looks as though you have solid surface countertop already. I would keep it, it's beautiful, they should be able to match it up if they need to and make it appear as if it is seemless. Some nice ceramic tile would bring some color downward. and then compliment it with a medium tone on the walls above the wainscotting. You could add a "bar" area on the wall where the microwave is now. It's okay to lose the length of the countertop and cupboards on that outside wall because you'll make it up in the bar. Not a long one, just enough room for 2 stools.(...a.m. coffee and the paper) I'd like to see a wall oven where your stove is now and a rangetop in the corner. It would really update that corner.
How do you feel about extending your pantry closet into a walk-in pantry? I plan on a walkin pantry so all my small appliances can go on a shelf in there as well as bulk food items.
I think that's it, I only made mental notes so I may have forgotten something. I hope everything goes smoothly. If they estimate 3 wks...count on 5. Sometimes things get backordered or even arrive damaged, expect it so if it's done sooner you'll be pleasantly surprised!!

Thanks for the input. Now I have a few more ideas to think about.

I really will have to think about that walkin pantry idea. That would be a nice thing to have.

I don't even know how long it will be until I get some preliminary sketches back. I never even asked them

hadn't tried plum sauce but if it's good enough for EMERIL!

We had finger salad. DD (6) will eat salad almost every meal if we let her eat it with her fingers and use "dipping sauce". What ever works I guess. DH made homemade bread yesturday so he toasted that in a frypan w/ LOTS of REAL butter. Then a couple of ribeyes and some green beens. No dessert, but I may go get get some of that comeback caremel "RED SOX" icecream I hid in the freezer the other day. Anybody else up for some?
