Hey everyone!! :sunny:

Hope everyone is having a good day so far!

Dante woke up with a 102 fever  .... We called the couple we were out with lastnight to tell them we won't be able to make it to dinner tonight and they told us their little one has a fever too! He got a flu shot the day before and I wonder if Dante caught something from him... :confused3 Oh well...

He's in bed asleep now... very strange not having a wild happy boy :worried:

Tinknutt~ I love the disney desperate housewives! :lmao: Thanks for sharing...

And your siggie pic... :teeth: very nice!!

Have fun today looking for V-day gifts!

Uraken~ I have a character on vmk called PrincessaC but I haven't been on in a long time... maybe one day I will jump back on..

Okay kitchen planners, here are the pictures that I promised you of my kitchen.

This is the view from the back entry/garage door entry area.

Showing the entry to the livingroom and hallway to bedrooms.

This is taken from beside the table, notice the placement of the stove, not good for many reasons...... beside door, no access to counterspace or cabinets in the corner.

The cabinets/countertop areas on each side, can you see the antenna topper bouquet on the top shelf of the china cabinet?

This shows the back entry door area (space of about 6 ft by 7 ft). This goes straight down to the basement, garage entry to the right and a door to the backyard (never used) on the left. Mischief, just has to be right in the middle of everything :cat:

Pictures of what's in the back entry right now. The first is taken from the garage door.

Anybody have any ideas, comments, questions?????

:yay: Hi everyone,

Robin-I'm lousy with decorating, so sorry if I can't help you much. My only suggestion would be to maybe go with lighter colored cabinets, I know my kitchen is small and we have pickled oak cabinets. The light color really makes a difference and my kitchen at least "feels" a little bigger.

Cally- I hope your baby gets to feeling better-BTDT recently as you all know and it's not fun. :wizard: P&PD to you and him.

Ann-Hello, nice to meet you. I agree with you about the clue.

TN-I did notice your pic, it looks like Walt is really enjoying his kiss :rotfl: !!

Colleen- :wave2:

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Robin, I do have ideas for you and am sketching a little something right now :)

With the snow coming it's turned into a real family day. Everybody's home, we're cleaning and hanging out. I went and got Penny a bigger collar (she outgrew her first one) and a paddle brush. She's gonna be such a challenge to keep groomed. Does anybody have grooming recomendations. Would you trust petco or would you go to a vet if you were me?

 Happy Saturday Threadkillers!

Okay, I'll be waiting to see what ideas you can come up with. :thumbsup2

Hi all, got my VDay gifts.

Robin, I looked at the pictures and have some ideas, but also want to show DH since he is the one who actually does the rebuilds and I just help. Wow you have a bunch of doors in the back section....where do they go?
Also what is to the left of the microwave? What type of counter tops do you have now?

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!! :thumbsup2

I'm going to church tonight, Ann is singing!!

Chat later :grouphug:

Hiya Tinknutt....I'm on - but in invisible mode!

ZJO Threadkillers! Tinknutt must be lurking in parts unknown right now.....

Cally - I hope your son gets better soon! No fun when you're sick. :wizard:

Robin - I LOVE the china cabinet! I wish I could give you some decorating help - but in the role of sister's when it comes to decorating - my role is to GET advice for fashion & decorating and GIVE advice for cooking. The decorating part of the kitchen does NOT fall under cooking!

SW33 - I think we' ARE right about that Idol....only time will tell!

TW - can't wait to see your ideas regarding Robin's kitchen.

Robin...I have to tell you what our sister's roles are with regards to WDW trips.

Tinknutt - The Great Reservationist
She Who Has No Name - The Travel Guide
Hollyann - The Food Critic (plus I pick the restaurants!)

Susan can ALWAYS find the best deals. Mary ALWAYS picks the route where we all get to do what we want AND see all the good shows. I have the lucky chore of finding the good restaurants! It works!

Yup there are tons of doors in that tiny little space  There is a doorway on every wall of that 6 by 7 foot space. The doors were all actually on when we moved in. We removed two of them.

There is the door to the backyard (with the window in it, never use that door, always locked and opened maybe 2 or 3 times in 19 years), a door into the garage, a door into the kitchen and a door to go downstairs to the basement :rolleyes2

There is the small pantry style cupboard and another closet that has a sloping wall inside (where the stairs go down) so it has a shelf at the top, a bar for hanging things and absolutely NO floor at all :confused3

If you look at the first picture you can see the French style or Garden style doors that open to the backyard. They are to the left of the microwave.

What kind of countertops......... UGLY green ones :p Very durable though, put hot pots right on them, no problem :)

We have purchased a new stove and an over the stove microwave oven to go with it. So that microwave and the stand are not going to be needed anymore.

We might have a small problem with relocating the stove because the basement ceiling underneath is finished in solid drywall. Unless we can relocate the electrical hookup through the upstairs wall or maybe through the attic, we can't move the stove too far from where it is now.

The dishwasher we can move to the other side of the sink easily enough.

Ann have fun singing at church tonight.

:scratchin .......... are you sure it is tonight :confused3 :rotfl2:

Yes, I like the china cabinet too. It is an antique but I don't know how old it is for sure. My parents got it maybe 30 years ago or so :confused3 It was old then already.

I might have to move it out of the kitchen though. It probably won't go with the new stuff.

Cally, how is Dante feeling?

Is DeVaughn okay :confused3 I hope he escapes the illness.

Very quiet here today.

Liz is out.

Alex is sleeping since he was on nights last night. He had a call and the patient didn't make it. Young lady in her mid twenties, overdose :guilty: So sad.

Rick's probably napping on the couch.

The cats are both sleeping somewhere.

Leaves me in a very quiet house. :ssst:

Promised Alex burgers before he goes to work again tonight. Best get busy and start cooking them soon.

Here ya go...my first thoughts on your kitchen...

It's a rough drawing...I would eliminate the pantry and the back door, straighten out the counter there and put the dishwasher next to the sink. Add a bar/seating area on the dining room side.

On the right I would move the stove (if possible) next to the fridge. This way the entire counter to the left could be useful space. If you included overhead cabinets you will have more cabinet space than what you started with.

Solid countertops are sublime but formica that looks like marble or granite is alot cheaper.

Eliminating the back entry would mean taking down the wall. I am all for that myself because we use that back entry like it's an extension of the kitchen anyways.

I also would not be bothered by losing that back door either. I don't know if I would totally take it out though because then we'd have to do something with the brick on the outside and I don't think I'd want to get into that. I would consider just covering it over with cabinets on the inside and eliminating it that way.

I'm just wondering how it would look because your drawing is not quite correct. The "new" part that would be claimed would be only a 6 by 7 foot area and would not go totally across the whole width of the kitchen. It would go from the outside wall to where the door to the garage is and then there would be the wall starting from the location where the stove is now. Know what I mean?

I'm not too sure about the bar/seating area. I wonder if it would make the table area feel crowded?

We are definitely considering running the cabinets and countertops to the ends of the available spaces (up as close as possible to the doorways on each side)

I think you have some excellent ideas. Thanks for the input.

It's Cool My ideas are shared very loosely

I would not expect it to be taken literally-just as a suggestion.

I do appreciate any and all ideas because when someone else looks at something they sometimes see different things than you do when you see it everyday.
