Who feels like a Thread-Killer? Part 2

Evening threadkillers.

I did go and visit my dad this afternoon at the nursing home.

It's kind of interesting to visit in the Alzheimer unit;)

At one point I had 3 old guys and myself walking down the hallway together. I listened to them discuss how they were going to go about fixing this thing or that thing(imaginary leaking roof or walls that needed to be moved):confused3

One guy asked my dad if he had any access cards. My dad says nope and the guy says I think we can get some over here. They go into some other guy's room and start looking at the clock radio and trying to figure out how to get their card from it;)

It's sad but funny at the same time.

Another sad thing but sort of amusing at the same time.

Two women, not been there very long. I swear I thought the one was a visitor not a resident, she seems quite coherent to me.

Anyway these women are trying to "plot" on how to get out of the locked security door. They see a nurse leave by that door and I'm watching from a distance. You can see the light bulbs going off in their heads  She got out of that door, maybe we can do it too:rolleyes1

They slowly walk up to the door and peek into the nurses station to see if anybody is looking. Then they gently push on the door......... one says........ nope it is still locked. The other one says...... I think you have to push this key pad over here (she did not know the number code). As they were walking away they were plotting how they were going to get a key so they could get out.

The really sad part about it is that the one lady told me it was like being in jail :guilty:

Anyway, I followed my dad around the hallways and came home again.

My mom and I went to see Hairspray tonight. It was okay but I wouldn't say that I was really wowed by it.

oh wow Robin - that is pretty sad - but i can see where it was kinda of 'comical' at the same time....Creative Memories is a huge supporter of Alzheimer's research - one of the founder's mother had Alz - wishing you the very best with your Dad!!!

YES definitely!!! I'm so anxious to go to NYC and Yankee stadium before they tear it down :-(
I watched the replays this a.m. at the gym of Barry's hit & his speech & almost cried...I think he could have cried too....but yeah no more pressure really!!! Did you see it was a Mets fan that caught the ball? Barry doesn't want it back...he said if a fan catches it - it belongs to him/her

 Hi everyone...I haven't been able to get on lately...busy busy busy. I will try to catchup later tonight. Have a great "over the hump" day!:goodvibes

Ann, we haven't heard from Susan in a long time. How are things going with her?

Is she ever planning on returning to your area or are they going to just wander back and forth across the country at their leisure??

I feel like such a thread killer. Everytime I go onto a thread and talk everyone else just leaves.

Well, everyone won't leave this thread I can pretty much guarantee that for you.

A lot of us have been hanging around here for years;)

NSalz and I are fine. Just heavy rain overnight (didn't even wake me up!) and then a sunny hot and sticky day up here. We weren't affected by the storm at all. I don't think we have any TKers from the city, except maybe AIsling who pops in occasionally.

Glad to hear that you and nsalz are okay PD.

I hadn't heard any news about storms but I generally get my news from the DISboards;)

Whew - glad to know you're okay PD & NSalz - already heard from Aisling on our cruise thread - she is okay too!!
I am deathly scared of tornadoes - grew up in Iowa - have seen the damage they cause....earthquakes are easier to live with!!!

Thanks. Tornado warnings are very rare around here. We get the snow, which I can totally live with. I LOVE a good Blizzard! SO glad to here that everything is ok with Aisling.
