Another busy day at the office for me, counting down to vaca...

I am considering signing up with a local travel agency. I have a Disney friend who recently signed up with this agency and need to give her a call to work out the details. Hubby suggested real estate sales but I think if I'm gonna go for a new profession that travel is more my fortee.

What do you guys think? Alls I know is I have to pay a fee and probably take a couple classes before I could actually start. My friend Tracey will be able to give me the details.

Betsy, you met Tracey after the magicmeet, she was one of the ladies we ended the night in the pub with.

Hey Colleen - that would be pretty cool....I think you would do really well - you definitely have the detail orientation & people personality....Clients would enjoy working with you & your attention to detail. Its a profession that you can grow in so many ways with....full time /part time - vacation - business travel - so many possibilities & TONS of opportunities..,.keep us posted

I have always wanted to get into the TA biz...but heard you have to go away to take classes...I couldnt do that ...sooo I never bothered to try , but If there is anything that I just LOVE to do is travel, and see new places...and if I cant do it...what better then to send other people to great places. ..I think you would make a great TA.....

HAPPY Tuesday.....well it's the countdown for school to begin....public school starts tomorrow already which is WAY early....Ryan starts a week from tomorrow....WOW - did the summer FLY BY or what!!! Maybe it's because we don't do anything FUN in the summer like take a trip to DL! I think i'm going twice this fall....once in Oct and then i have my annual Nov trip - but that is only for one day....NOT enough time!!! since DH doesn't want to or doesn't know how to plan anything for my BD - i'm going to plan the whole month of October with FUN stuff for me to do - starting with a LONG wkend in Anaheim!!!

I have always wanted to get into the TA biz...but heard you have to go away to take classes...I couldnt do that ...sooo I never bothered to try , but If there is anything that I just LOVE to do is travel, and see new places...and if I cant do it...what better then to send other people to great places. ..I think you would make a great TA.....

I was a partime TA years ago. Not a $$$$ making job at all. Have to work your butt off for bupkis! One year I booked over 100k worth of trips & my commision was something like $450! This was BEFORE computers and the paper work was ...not to mention you dealt with people who were either ..VERY SPECIFIC (I want a flight that leaves ONLY JFK between 9:45am & 10:02am ONLY) or not very specific at all ( I want to go on vacation somewhere where there is a beach and skiing)!

However the perks were nice.....Free Hotel rooms! Very rarely got discounted airfare, once in a blue moon, got upgraded to first class.

However you DONT need to go to school for it!!!! Check out the classified ads. I see openings for trainees ALLLLLLL the time here. Just the AGENCY has to be licensed not the Agent!

The one I am looking into working with is Mouse Fan Travel...they deal most specifically with Disney trips~

They do some work for other destinations but are primarily Disney...

I am calling Tracey later to #1 tell her I won't be in Disney in September, she and Deb Wills will be in the world the same weekend I was supposed to be there. and #2, to find out how she got in, is it lucrative enough for me if I do this part time, yada yada yada...

Hubby says if I'm gonna spend all my time at home on the computer anyway I may as well make money doing it. I agree with him there. I've helped folks before with their trips. I know I can handle it. If it only comes with free disney travel...I'll still do it...that alone would save me thousands

I'll survive not being able to go in september...there's ALOT of people I'm gonna miss but I know I'll have more chances in the future...

Hi Threadkillers!

I've been busy, but kept up on the reading. DH is doing better and anxious to go to work on Monday. I'm reading a new book from one of my favorite authors, so I'll probably be hidden for the next few days.

When Cally, Betsy and I (and hopefully, Robin) meet at WDW, I think I'm going to spend the night at the Dolphin...we'll see. That way I don't have to travel home the same day.

I have never stayed at the S/D, have you?....I have heard they are nice...but not very disneyish...Ill have to check them out....I love that area though..loved it when we stayed at the YC...very handy!

sitting around waiting for the boys to get home....DH just sent me a text...he's on his way...DS won't be even be finished with ftball till 7pm, so he won't be here for 2 more hours....at least this week they don't have to be there till 4....still gives him a few more 'days' of summer vacation...but he procrastinated all summer on reading his mandatory summer reading books, so he's having to cram those in during the days....and with only 8 days left - he best be reading FAST!!! Friday night all the boys spend the night at the school....they don't sleep - well not too much anyway, so Coach got smart this year....he's letting them all stay up into the early morning hours. About the time i get up they'll be going to sleep & then they get to sleep till noon....have a brunch & then play their 1st scrimmage at 3pm...should be fun time....

Ann - what book are you reading??? Who is your fav author? I LOVE to read.....

Hi all.

Been a busy day and this is my first chance to check out the DISboards today

Tomorrow I leave to pick Liz up at camp on Thursday morning. Then along the way home I will meet up with Rick at some point and we are going to an airplane competition weekend. Liz will have to drive the rest of the way home by herself

Gosh, has it been three weeks already since I drove Liz to camp. The time has pretty much flown by for me.

So I will be gone from tomorrow morning sometime until later on Sunday.

Lots to tell! Just been bizzzzzzzzzzzzze! I came home to a MESS!
The laugh factory was GREAT! In fact I gotta write y'all the story of our first visit...James was picked, HE GOT THE BIGGEST LAUGH (unintenionally) . Hopefully tonight I get to write it!

I ate in the Plaza (the end of Main Street...think that is the name) The have GREAT Club sandwich!
I ate in Alfedos for the last time!

However...it was sooooooooooooooooooooo crowded that even with ADR's there were 1/2 hour waits to get in the resturants!

I just returned from a wasted trip to the doctors for Tom. The doc was out on an emergency - so we rescheduled for tomorrow. Not a biggie, but Tom is chomping at the bit to drive again!

I got a post card in the mail today - thanks DU! Sorry I couldn't turn the heat down - it's 98º today....typical August in Florida. I always run around this time of year with a sweatshirt style jacket because the A/C's in stores and restaurants are set on "arctic freeze" that I get cold!

I made my reservations for the Dolphin hotel for 9/29....I'm excited! Hope ya'll are having a GREAT day!

Just got done watching Jump In with Corbin Bleu so the kids are still up.

Zoe starts her first first day of school the day after labor day. I'll take the day off.

Hey unc! Missed the green hair. Can't wait till our time.

The 2nd guys came with the carpet yesterday had a huge default in the roll. Maybe we are not meant to get it. May not happen till the end of the month.
