Hi everyone! Ooh, I LOVE to wake up and see so many morning posters! It's 12:30. We've been out all morning. Went to b'fast - I know, I know....no surprise! Had a lovely time!

After that, DH and I went to look at campers. We're still about 3 years away, but we know exactly what we want. We'll keep looking and if a really good deal pops up....we'll grab it! We're not going to impulse buy just because we've got camper fever! Anyway, it opens up a fun discussion (we LOVE to discuss things!) and one can always dream!

DH is out digging - in this heat - against my judgement! After he gets so far and it gets too hot, we'll have lunch and a..........

NAP!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc ya gotta love nap time!

Sounds like everyone is doing well. Kim, we miss you...come back and play with us!! Cruisin, dear Cruisin, no blame for the surprise - you deserve CREDIT! You're too cool for words!

Hi DalPal. How cool to have the GDs over every Sunday for b'fast. DH and I go out for b'fast every chance we get...it's the one meal I don't care to cook.

A big hello to everyone else and good luck to the fantasy footballers. All I can say is - Go Steelers!

Hi everyone.

I am now posting to you from Akron, Ohio. We were going to go all the way home tonight but we thought it was getting too late so we decided to stop and rest and do the remainder tomorrow.

We still have 5 or so hours left to go..

How Funny! I just pulled up the Threadkillers right when you posted. Sleep well Cruisin. Glad you're not driving when you're too tired! Let us know how the trip went when you get home!

Hey Ann, I just noticed your new countdown clock. How neat!!!

The travel has been great so far. No hold ups, not too much traffic. It rained some today while we were driving but the weather has been pretty good.

Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina are all so beautiful with the hills, mountains and trees.

Hey Mr Brer_Papa, my friend. I am almost close enough to yell at you :p . Almost but not quite.

Dalpal, breakfast with the granddaughters sounds great. I look forward to becoming a grandmother but just not too soon!!!!!

Snow Angel ............................

HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I am a bit late but I thought about you today as we were driving along :D I hope that you had a wonderful day :bday:

You share a birthday with my nephew.

Ooh! Snow Angel - I TOLD you I wouldn't remember on Friday! I hope you had a GREAT day! Many happy returns.

Yeah, Cruisin, we decided to go ahead and check out Fort Wilderness. We haven't been camping in about 8 years. Every once in a while we get the bug to go. It should be cool enough down there, too. We're looking forward to it. It's SO beautiful where you traveled this time of year. Were the fall leaves in full color?

It's getting late. I'm watching an old movie. Not B/W old, but an 80's move....."Contact" with Jodie Foster. I always liked that one! Take care!

Thanks Cruisin'Kroezes

.. Maybe I'm getting too old for birthdays. I told dh I will start going backwards next year for my bithday. I will be 33 instead of 34 and then the next year 32. When I reach 21 again I will start aging again.

Dh actually remembered my birthday. He cleaned my car and we went to breakfast with the baby. For lunch, I met older two girls at their school for lunch. DD2 was so excited over my birthday, I promised to eat lunch with them. Good lunch, the dd2's class got into trouble for acting up.

Later dh I went to a free dinner a red lobster (not my favorite place since been spoiled by living in Panama City, FL.. some of the best seafood ever) and ate chicken. Then dh and I spent night a hotel... No hanky panky.. actually just watched spiderman 2 and fell asleep. First time in long that actually got 8 hours of sleep.

How has everyone else been doing?

I'm looking into booking a trip in 2009, Fort Wilderness sounds interesting

Happy Birthday SnowAngel , ,
If I wanted to be 32 for my next Birthday I would have had to start counting backwards a LONG time ago:earseek:
Good Morning all,
Well its looking kind of cold out there today, here in the NE of Pa.
We have a frost advisery for tonight:mad:
I love the fall....I really do, but I am use to having summer first....What happened to summer???? Did it come? I must have missed it some how, because I dont remember any summer weather here!
The trees are changing to some very nice looking colors though !I hope it stays colorful until after the 16th, because we are taking our DGSs on a steam train ride to Syr and back. Its to celebrate the 75 years of the train coming through our area. My DGSs just love trains.
Cruisin'Kroezes,
Im glad you are having a safe trip.
Well got to go feed my zoo, every one have a great day!
Betsy

:wave2: Well, another road trip safely completed :D . For such a long trip, 12 hours in each direction, it went very, very smoothly. No traffic tie ups or hassles, no troubles at the border, for the most part the weather was beautiful. Overall a good trip.

The machine we went to have a look at is not really what my husband was looking for but he learned some things so the trip was not a total waste of time.

:p I agree with you about the backwards birthdays Dalpal. I too would have had to start counting backwards a LONG time ago!!;)

Hi Hollyann, really there was not a lot of changing of the colours of the leaves yet. I think we were about 1 - 2 weeks too early. There were some colours in the more northern sections like Ohio but not a lot. I am sure that next weekend it will be extra beautiful with the different colours!

:cake: :cheer2:HAPPY BIRTHDAY SNOWANGEL!! :cheer2: :cake:

8 hours sleep is a G-R-E-A-T gift!

Sounds like you had a pretty wonderful day.....

start counting backwards? sheesh.....I'm already way ahead....

Hey BP...it's not looking good on the football front. I think this is the week for my first defeat!!! :worried:  :sad1:  I still have a very small glimmer of hope with T. Holt this evening but I'm trying to be realistic. How 'bout you!?!

Happy Birthday Snowangel!!! :bday:

Hey Crusin, glad you're back home safe and sound.

It was a beautiful fall day today and looks like it's going to get pretty chilly tonight. I've already got my sweats on! Time to start moving some of my plants inside until spring.

Have a good evening everyone!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Hi LuckyMommyx2!

I still have Bulger going tonight for St. Louis....i should be OK in that league....plus.....St Louis is my pick in the "Survivor league!

Not looking so good in an espn pick'em league....they use the point spread....

the big "whoosh" you hear will be me being flushed down the drain....

looking a bit better in a yahoo pick'em....no point spread....

my oldest DS is in there though....he's doing really well!

the brat picked Cleveland! :faint:

I've been keeping my eyes open on M. Bennet....running back from the Vikings....he should be playng starting next week.....just in case you need an RB because of a bye....

well....GOOD LUCK!! Hope Holt has a bust out game for you!

ETA: i have to admit...i picked Buffalo in that yahoo league...what was I thinking?!?!?!

Ya know, Brer_Papa, I was waiting at the hotel yesterday morning for my husband to come back from looking at the machine and outside of my window I spied a nice little gray squirrel.

So, of course, I thought of you ;) . Now I was taking a good look at the cute little squirrel and I was wondering ........... where in the heck do you find enough meat on those guys to make a McNugget from  Of course this was a North Carolina squirrel, Pennsylvania squirrels could be a lot meatier!!!!

Now if you wanted to make deer McNuggets there were several of those beside the road on our trip home yesterday and today. Poor babies :(

Hi Luckymommy, isn't it sad when you have to admit that summer is almost past. I do like fall weather though ::yes::

I was just reading back over what happened while I was gone and noticed this little statement slipped in there at the bottom

:rotfl:  , so true, so true!!!!!

Ahoy Cruisin' ! :boat:

How is my friend this fine, clear autumn evening?

The gray squirrels are usually smaller than the fox squirrel....but....they are meaty enough for some mcnuggets....now the fox squirrel....YUM!

aaaaah....don't make deer mcnggets....i do can deer meat though...and I have a recipe for venison steaks that is famous around here....

very tasty....very tender....want to try some?

well....guess what I did yesterday?

....WishingStar and I took some kids to a pumpkin farm....

1st....we had a LOT OF FUN! they had a corn maze....a hay maze....a small like petting zoo...WITH A REINDEER!!

plus, we had a hayride....pumpkins all over...and a pumpkin patch....

some YUMMY apple cider....i brought 2 gallons home....

anyway....in the barn...they had a hay maze....bunch of hay bales set up like tunnels....and a couple places you could emerge from the tunnel and stand up...and wave at whoever was looking....

Ayup....i crawled through....

I have 2 sore knees and a scratched up bald head....

I went through with Kara & Corey..

AND...when I thought I was done....Sammy wanted to go....so....i did t again!

Oh well...we had some fun!

aaaah...the Reindeer....he was beautiful...naturally....seeing him led to a Santa discussion...

Sammy is so cute arguing with me over who is Santa's friend...

well anyway...last night, I emailed my friends in North Pole about seeing the reindeer....they emailed me back...we read it to Sammy...

you should have seen her eyes get so big :earseek: while we read....hearing from some "elves"....

we watched "The Three Musketeers" last night...us kids liked it....

we are looking forward to the release of "Twice Upon a Christmas"....the previews look awesome....

how was your day?

Hi everyone! Well, DH and I had a productive day! DH got up at SIX AM!!! I don't understand people and their obsession with daylight. Anyway, he started digging one of our final drains. At noon he finished! While he was doing that, I cleaned mirrors and windows. No b'fast out, so we went out for lunch! Just a quick sandwich at a local greasy spoon. Then we came home to nap, but couldn't sleep..........can you believe it?

Right now, we're reading and enjoying the evening. I would have posted earlier, but we had a HUGE thunderstorm with rain. The drain is working nicely!

Tomorrow, DH is going with DD & GS to meet DD's MIL at a point halfway between here & Tennessee. Our GS is going to spend time with his other grandma! How cool is that?! Anyway, DH is going to ride back wth DD............they'll have some nice alone time. Which works for me - I'll get him out of my hair to get some cleaning done.

Don't ask me why, but I just can't clean with hubby around. Since he doesn't work - it makes it doubly difficult! I usually shoo him out of the house once a week for a couple hours.

Enough about MY day........How was YA'LL's day? Cruisin, I agree with you on the squirrels. They're a bit scrawny here in FL, too. Maybe BP genetically engineers his squirrels in his hidden laboratory (theory, of course)!

Take care everyone!

Brer_Papa, your friend is doing a lot of sneezing tonight. I think allergy season is starting to catch up with me.::yes::

Thanks but no thanks on the deer meat, I think I will pass :crazy2: on that delicacy. That means there will be more left for you!!!

Sounds like you had a fun time down on the farm with the kids, big and little :teeth:

There is a nice big corn maze about 20 minutes from here. I have never been there before but they usually publish a picture in the paper every year on what the design looks like.

So Hollyann, I have been wondering.  . When you take this naps in the afternoon, how long do you usually sleep for???

I can do short 10 - 15 minute naps during the day but anything longer leaves me groggy and out of focus for an hour or two afterwards. In that case any good from the nap is undone by the being out of sorts afterwards.

Hello HollyAnn! :cool1:

( You ever notice Ozzie and Harriet always had supper at the table, but they never showed Harriet cooking?)

aaaah....the theories abound....

I have a couple of my own you know....

one is: why ruin a good nap by sleeping?

another is: If we have to live off the land....you guys are:

a) going to have to move to Pennsylvania where the squirrels are fat and juicy....

b) learn to cook 'em....

my third theory for ths posting is:

shooing Tom out of the house also allows you to practice your juggling.....before you do your cleaning.....

:) :) :) :)

Aaaaaw.....Hope the allergies get better....(Gesndheit!)

I can do short 10 - 15 minute naps during the day but anything longer leaves me groggy and out of focus for an hour or two afterwards.

So....what you're saying is....

"Don't juggle for 3 hours after a quckie nap?

I hadn't heard that one before.....

No, no, no Brer_Papa, I meant .......... don't juggle for 3 hours after a LONG nap.;)

Short 10- 15 minute naps, I can handle. 1 or 2 hour naps cause me too much grief because it takes me a long time to "get over" them and return to full energy!!!

I much prefer to have a "quickie" :teeth:
