I haven't had time to keep up with all the posts, hope everyone is doing well!
It's been another HOT and :sunny: day here, we haven't had rain in months.
I did lots of yard work today and enjoyed the pool too.
It's time for a shower and into bed with a good book.

Goodnight! :)

Thanks Hollyann, I will carry your good luck in with me next week! ;)

Wendy, I'd be afraid Dr. Chang would kick-box my teeth out! :earseek: Now, Dr. Disney would be easy to take tho! :teeth:

Robin, night owls huh? I hope I haven't corrupted you all.

Party? I ended up staying. Just how many Princess parties can these girls have?! It's nice talking to the other Mom's (and one Dad) tho. Got a GREAT tip from one Mom, and ran over to Target right after dinner. :teeth:

montessori, you always have the coolest clippies around!!! WHERE on earth do you find these things that let you post them? I have trouble with the sites I use always being down....therefore, little red x's. :(

:wave2: everyone!!!

:wave2:

Have to go and pick up my daughter. She is in a town about 20 minutes away. So I have about 1 hour of driving time till I get back home again. Hopefully my headache goes away by then.

I will check in to see what is happening when I return. ::yes::

Well, I made it there and back again all in the same amount of pieces that I left in ;)

The road I had to drive can sometimes be a dangerous one with lots of accidents.

Somehow, I knew I'd still be 'hovering' when you returned.

;) The Late Night Curse! :p

I know, I seem to be slowly shifting my daily schedule too.

I think that naturally I would stay up until 2 or 3 and sleep until 9 or so, if I could just do what I wanted and forget the outside world :p Unfortunately, life doesn't work that way.

Okay, it is summer's fault. But it really is summer's fault because I tend to do this every summer. I can adjust my work schedule and basically go in whenever I want, as long as I keep up with the work. So I tend to stay home a lot in the summer time, then I slowly shift towards being a night owl.

My husband on the other hand goes to bed with the chickens. Some nights he is asleep before 9. He tends to need lots of sleep and I can get by with much less.

Of course I am living in a house with a 20 year old and a 17 year old, so, their night hours are rubbing off on me, I think!

Oh Robin, you're my twin!! I have been adjusting my schedule around the kids, school, job, no school, no job, age-related....forEVER it seems! My kids are 16 & 6...big difference in bedtimes! Summer makes it worse. DS pretty much does what he wants, but he has summer school 4 days a week, and he goes to bed by 11 I'd say, the lastest. DD I try to get down by/around 9 PM, since she has to wake up with me to go and pick up DS those 4 days.

I have to say, that when I went back to work last fall, it really adjusted my schedule for me! All for the good tho. ;) However, I'm off all summer, therefore the night owl hours again.

I positively ADORE naps tho! ::yes:: :teeth:

Kim, my son is just finishing up his Registered Practical Nursing I think they call it LPN in the US so he has to try to get some sleep because he has to work at the hospital. One more shift after today and he is done. In September he is enrolled at the local college in the Paramedic course. This is truly what he wants to do. He took the nursing course to have something to fall back on and because he couldn't get into the paramedic course at the time. In the fall they are starting to teach the paramedic course here in our local college, so I guess I will have him home for at least 2 more years ;)

My daughters school is changing their hours. From the beginning of time the school hours around here have been from 9 to 3/3:30 area. Next year they are making the high schools start at 8 and the elementary schools will be starting at 9. They say they will save money with busing.

Well, that will definitely change our sleep patterns around here. My daughter can't make it to school for 9, 8 is going to become a nightmare. She actually got suspended for one day last year for being habitually late for first class:eek: She is always late by about 2 minutes or so, never a large amount of time.

So wish me luck trying to get her to change her sleeping habits and be to school on time.

I have told her she can't get into any trouble this year and can't miss any school at least until after the first of January. We are taking her out of the first week back of school to go on a Disney Cruise ;) and we don't want to have a hassle when we do it.

Oh, I don't nap much. Maybe once a month I will have a short 15 minute nap but not very often

Hi everyone, hope it is a :sunny: day where you are. It sure is here.

Good Afternoon Night Owls! I'm a night owl myself, but my hubby (who's my best buddy) is a morning person....so, we split the hours down the middle! We go to bed around 11-12 and get up around 7-8am. That way, we're both happy!

We had a nice breakfast, walked 3.5 miles today, then looked around the mall for a bit, did a touch of shopping, came home, had lunch and we're going to read/watch an old movie and take a nap! That's my day today! However, that's pretty much my day every day!

Tomorrow, after we walk, we're going to his favorite breakfast place so he can indulge in a high carbohydrate breakfast - we're both lo-carber's - before his biopsy on Tuesday. Then we'll take it easy for the rest of the day. Hopefully, we'll be back on track on Wednesday!

Well, ya'll take care and chat with you later! Ann (Hollyann)

Everyone!

Robin,
I DO wish you luck with the new school schedule.
I remember reading an article about a study on sleep habits. It said that teenagers natural sleep patterns are different than younger and older people.
They really can not get to sleep early!
Some school districts started having high school start LATER in the day and saw great improvement in the students' performance.
It's going to be a challenge for you and your daughter this year. Good luck!

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

:sunny: :sunny:

Hi montessori

It is just a perfect day here. The weather is deliciously warm and the bugs have not been biting for a change.

I know what you mean about the sleeping habits of teens. I think if they are trying to save money on the buses, they could have done it just as well with the Highschools starting at 10 instead of 8!!!

Love your little chalk man :D

Good evening to all!

Ahoy Cruisin' ! :boat:

Catching up on the posts....hope your headache went away....glad if it did...

also glad you had a safe trip....

Your DS has a bright future ahead! I kknow you are proud....as you should be! :cloud9:

I understand about your DD....i usually chased the school bus in the mornngs...

but....since I am so old  :) ....they were Model A busses...I always caught them before they reached their top speed of 4 MPH!....lol...lol..

Hello HollyAnn.... :wave2: ...(can't you just see Ricky Nelson smile when he sings the song?) ...

yes...add me to the list of night owls.. always was....always will be....

it's why I had to chase the school busses in the morning!

Sounds like you had a nice day! Wonderful!!

Hi Montessori! ....wonderful graphics...you are top-notch!

I've read some of those studies....and in truth...some people have read those studies to me! (THE NERVE!!) ...

They read them to see if there is anything about someone like me that doesn't eat during the day...only feeds at night..and stays up all odd hours....

I tell them to read "Dracula"...

BUT!...i did very well in school...despite my eccentricities...yet I agree with the studies you mentioned...

Good Evening Friend Kim! How are things in the Windy City?

Hmmm....should I have said Good Morning?...after all...night owls have a different time table....

any old "Hoot" <~~~ a night owl pun I couldn't resist....

any old hoot...."off for the summer?" Dang! How cool is that? :cool1:

enjoy enjoy enjoy!!

well...as usual...i have a long post...going to hit that button...post ths...and type another post to tell you what I've been up to since I saw you last....OOPS...wrong button!...i'll try this one over here...

Well...I had a work related meeting this morning....so vacation is over....but, it went out with a bang!...

DW had to go back to work yesterday....and she worked today....

so...i hung out with some Grandkids yesterday...went to a soccer game...
usual fun stuff...

and then Jimmy...my friend who went to South Carolina with me...calls me up and reminds me of an invitation to a party/pig roast at his DD's (Wendy) place for last night...

DW was tired...so...about 9 PM...i hop (still have the frogs displayed) into my car and off I go...

well...the pig was roasted...Jimmy was deep-frying turkeys...so I helped him carve...and the people were feasting...

aferwards...everybody sat around by the huge bonfire...just relaxing...when lo & behold...a guitar or 2 were brought out....

well..it was fun...and guess what?

You guys were introduced...and I have a message to pass along to you...

Wendy asked if I knew this Faith Hill/Tim Mcgraw song..which i do...so we duetted....and then she asked ikf I knew "night mves" by Bob Seger...which I do...so..i am doing pretty well...

when, instead of singing ..

"I woke last night to the sound of thunder"...

i sang..and yes...i had ONE beer...first beer since youngest DS got married 2+ years ago..

i sing....

"I woke last night to the thound of sunder"...

well...i say Yikes! and ask "did i just sing "thound of sunder?" when hhey quit laughing, they said "yes...you did"...

so, I says..."well...sinced I messed up that song....let me tell you a story...."

so, I tell them about you guys..

my thread-killer friends......
even sang a "Hello HollyAnn" for them....

and I told them about our somewhat spirited but grossed out discussion about squirrel mcnuggets...

so...i sang my altered "Someday Ladies You'll Accompany Me" for them....

well...since I had their attention...I asked for a show of hands....should you guys try them or not....there were a few 'ew's"...and the vote was close...

but...alas...they voted for you having mcnuggets...

and being a believer of democracy...and giving you guys a shot at "best 2 out of 3"...I asked for another show of hands...

this question was "how many think my friends on the thread-killers should try the mcnuggets as long as anybody here doesn't have to?"

uh oh...a landslide...tskk tsk tsk....
you'll learn to love them....

well...everybody thinks you are all pretty cool...and most there have known me a while...and either they think I would only be friends with people of the highest caliber...or they figure you must be bound for Sainthood for putting up with me....either way....they think you're all cool..

well...after some coaxing...I got Jimmy up there with me...he and his wife Kathy will celebrate their 35th Anniversary on Tuesday...

I helped him sing "You are so Beautiful"....it was nice...

played awhile longer...got some more people up there...had a blast...

anyway...I waddled home late late late last nght....full of roast pork and deep fried turkey...and too many other goodies to list...

today, after my meeting... I took DMIL to a chicken BBQ by her place...then a visit to the cemetary...also..a nice day.....

so...how was your day / weekend?
