We got ours yesterday, and I popped it in to watch this morning. While the hosts were not that irritating, I thought the whole DVD was just not that well planned. It did not hold the interest of my kids at all. The scene changes were too quick, so it couldn't grab your attention to anything, and as a result, you never got a chance to really "experience" anything and get excited about it. I thought they should have shown more characters in it, and everytime they did, the character popped on and off the screen in a second or two. By the time I excitedly told my girls, "Look! There's Mickey!" and they turned towards the TV, he was gone. And it was not well organized. It jumped from place to place and got one confused (especially for those of us who have not been in a long time!). OK, and maybe the hosts were a bit annoying -- I could have done with less talking and more scenery of WDW.

Have all planning DVDs been like this in style???

I actually thought it was the best one they have ever done. I have last years and the years before and they don't come close to this one. I'm 31 and thought that the new crew going over everything was more to my liking.

You can count me in as one of the unimpressed. And, no, the one a year or two ago was much better with an interactive map on the DVD version. (Although, the trivia section on the new one was a hoot for my kids.)

Me, I hated it. The "hosts" were obnoxious and annoying. A simple voiceover is enough for me.

I have to agree. I honestly wasnt that impressed either. :confused3 The hosts were so annoying! They didnt really even focus that much on the rides and like you said with the characters they really were not on that much. So I will have to say I do like the the video from before much better.

I much prefer the one from last year. It's my grandson's favorite DVD to watch.

I was not impressed either. I didn't understand the point of the man who kept resting on the benches, that was lame. We all know, if you are tired, there will be a place to sit down and relax, or eat and relax, or relax on the lazy river at the water park, etc....

I agree that the jump cuts were too quick. You did not really get enough time to see much. And the hosts were annoying. I love watching regular people tell how much fun everything is.

dude i love it! Im not ashamed to say im watching it right now. hehe... I think its really good if you have been a million times like us. Because its not all facts. Plus, seriously, Luke (the thrill guy) is hot. haha. So its a bonus to me. I also think the Rest and relaxation guy is funny. I dunno, i just really really like it. Probably bc ive seen the old ones, which are all the same, like a bagillion times.

That was one of my favorite things about the video. Not everyone that visits WDW wants to run from ride to ride. If my parents ever go, I doubt if they'll get on any rides. They would be happy to just relax and watch their grandkids have a good time

Actually the host I liked best of all time was Krista on the REsort TV. However, I think the hosts this time are obnoxious and a little too much. I agree that a voiceover would sure be nice compared to this.

Loved it as well. Better than last years. My 3 year old and I watch all the time.

I ordered it to help get my mom and sister excited for the trip (they're excited, but not as much as I am). Once the DVD started, my mom fell asleep. She said all the jerky camera stuff was giving her a headache and she found the hosts too annoying. I did watch the whole thing and was not impressed at all. It almost seemed amateurish and lacked polish.

I did not like it as well either. I think the shows on Travel channel show more about Disney. I sent this new one to my family. They will be going first time with us this May. They didn't get a good view or feel for the way Disney is magic. They didn't show the rides as much or the fun with the characters. I like it a lot better when they have visitors tell what they like then show the ride.

Mine too! I didn't like the one this year nearly as much.

I didn't like it as much either :( I liked the last one that came in the purple type folder thingy. It was magical to me for some reason, more focused on the magic of it. I liked how yhey talked to real people.

This new one was like they felt they needed to make it a show instead of a planning dvd. I did enjoy the relaxing dude, but the rest was just a tv show to me and not a very good one. it seems as if they were aiming it towards teens or something, I don't know, I can't pinpoint the problem.

*puts in purple dvd*

Count me in the group that was totally unimpressed with this year's version. The kids and I will continue to watch last year's (DH refuses to watch it anymore  )

We love it. I've watched it at least 15 times. We love Dave the relaxation specialist, and my son Luke really likes Luke the thrill specialist. It kills me though how they show kids walking right up to characters...like that ever happens.

:flower: My daughter and I love the dvd planner...I think we've watched it 10 times or so. She likes Dave the bench tester... :cheer2:

I love Dave! One of my favorite things to do at WDW is to sit on benches and people-watch, so we are kindred spirits. I will admit that Luke is a little annoying, but who cares? I will get my Disney fix however I can, annoying or not.
