We love each class of resort at WDW
For what they are

Not all resorts in each class, but love deluxe because, we'll they are deluxe ,and, location, location, location , and transportation

Moderate- theming, most feel romantic

Value- fun themes- cost

I recommend, to try at least one resort in each class at least once.

We have stayed deluxe
In order of our favorite in each class

Deluxe
Polynesian
Grand Floridian
Wilderness Lodge
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Board Walk Inn

Moderate
Coronado springs
Port Orleans French quarter
Caribbean beach resort

Value
Pop century
All Star Sports

I do! Sort of....

We have loved both values and deluxes!

We have only stayed in one moderate (CBR) and we disliked it enough that we haven't tried another moderate yet, but maybe someday. :thumbsup2

I've stayed at all three levels and have liked all my stays. (some better than others)

I always look at cost/type of trip/requirements then find the resort to meet that.

Right now I have a MOD and a VALUE trip planned.

I'd stay Deluxe again if the circumstances were right.

I do have a few resorts that I would put pretty low on the list but I have those at all three levels.

Yep, different resorts/levels for different types of trips! Some trips have different priorities. They are all nice and hey, any trip at WDW is better than no trip at all.

We have stayed at all three levels and love each for different reasons (especially value and deluxe).

If we anticipate spending most of our time in the parks -- we stay value. Our favorite value is Pop

If we want a more relaxing vacation with more resort downtime -- we stay deluxe. Our favorite deluxe resorts are Contemporary and Poly

We have only stayed at one mod POFQ and while it was nice and we enjoyed our time there.

I'm staying at a value for the first time in January, but I've stayed at one moderate and one deluxe! There are pluses and minuses to every category and to each resort within each category, but each has a different feel to it and for that reason I don't want to stay anywhere twice, at least for the next several years.

I have stayed in all three classes of resorts. While I love the deluxe resorts the best I am not opposed to staying in a mod or value and have done so. I would actually like to try out one of the AOA family suites.

As you can see by my signature, I've stayed at a few of each and have always enjoyed each one! (Seriously, when you're staying anywhere on Disney property 24/7... how can you NOT have a good time? :goodvibes) I love how each resort has its own unique style and ambience, with plenty of thought going into every little theming detail.

For Moderates, I've only stayed at Port Orleans, so DH and I are really looking forward to trying out CSR in a few weeks! :cool1: The grounds look just beautiful.

If I had to rank them, like the OP did, my preferences would be:

Deluxe
Beach Club Villas
Boardwalk Villas
Old Key West

Moderate
Coronado Springs (Probably. Will know for sure in a few weeks! :))
Port Orleans

Value
Pop Century
All Star Movies
All Star Music
All Star Sports

We've stayed Value, Moderate, normal Villa, and Villa at Deluxe. (just making up categories here)

With the exception of not particularly liking our stays at Jambo and Kidani (villas, not normal rooms at Jambo), we've liked all the categories and would stay at any but AKL again.

I have to agree with you. Of all our stays we liked AKL the least. The teaming is nice but there are other major drawbacks for us.

We haven't stayed at a value, just because it's not our style (but we don't have anything against them). However, we've stayed at both moderates, deluxes, and villas. There are some mods we'd prefer over deluxes and vice versa. For instance, my husband would stay at any mod before staying at WL ever again. I feel the same way about SSR. He hated the rooms and the atmosphere. We would choose Beach Club and Grand Floridian over any of the mods, but would probably choose Caribbean Beach over a good portion of the deluxes.

I think it's hard to judge as well, because we've only stayed at most of the hotels one time. You can have an amazing stay or experience once and then have a completely different one the second time.

I haven't had the chance to stay at a Deluxe yet, but I have visited most of them and see no reasons to not love them. :goodvibes With that said, I have stayed at Moderates and Values multiple times and love them both, each for very different reasons. I think Disney does a very good job at catering to a huge variety of needs and desires. I love how much fun Values are, and I love how quaint Moderates are. We pick our resorts by budget, and what we can afford at the time, of course, but also largely based on our mood and needs, in that order. Sometimes we want something more grown up and quiet, other times we want it to be a fiesta all the time. There's something for everybody and every mood. :thumbsup2

After reading the thread. It seams most people love deluxe and value for what they are and moderates, are just ok in most opinions.

I agree.. We have stayed at values, deluxe and villas. We like AKL the least. We preferred ASSp over AKL. I need to try a moderate. I always have trouble with the moderate price point. If I want an inexpensive trip we go value, other wise we just go all in with a deluxe resort. We are also DVC members so most trips include a stay at the villas.
To be honest we like to have one big trip every couple of years non DVC.

We have stayed at all of these multiple times except for Pop and CBR which are the only two resorts I do not like.

Values:
All Star Sports, kids loved the theming.
All Star Movies, loved the theming when kids were younger.
All Star Music, did not like layout.
Pop Century, hated everything about it.

Moderates:
Port Orleans Riverside, love the mansions, beautiful landscaping.
Port Orleans French Quarter, like the smaller size.
Caribbean Beach, rooms damp, like the beaches, themed pool.

Deluxe:
Beach Club, love everything, location, theme, pool.
Boardwalk, love location, theme.
Animal Kingdom, must have savannah room, quiet and removed, far away though.
Wilderness Lodge, lodge is beautiful, not my favorite overall.
Old Key West, huge rooms, love laid back feel, many pools.
Bay Lake Tower, theme too modern, location, location, location.
Saratoga Springs, lot of quiet pools, very spread out.

I sure do!

Have VGF booked for January 2014 and can't wait to finally see it after watching it get built:cloud9:

And yet, POP will always be one of my favs. :goodvibes

Next stop CBR in 12 days! :cool1:

I have stayed in all the WDW resorts and love each one in its own way. I really can't say that there is one that I don't like. However, there are a few in each category that we tend to gravitate to more often than some others, so I guess that these would be our favourites:

Deluxe:

Polynesian - especially when we have kids with us
Beach Club/Yacht Club - adult only
Swan/Dolphin - sometimes price can't be beat for deluxe

Moderates:

Coronado Springs
POFQ

Value:

ASMu
POP

My overall Favoutite resort must be the POLY. It was the one that we chose to stay in for our very first stay inside inside WDW. We loved it then and we still love it now.

Agree! Beginning to like values a lot! Started out only deluxe, go figure!!!

I like the value's like Pop Century but with two teenaged boys and a dh who are all almost 6 feet tall one room is too small and if we get two rooms a lot of times its just as expensive and sometimes a little less expensive to go with a deluxe. I really want to try AOA I am jut not sure we will all be comfortable in one of the family suites
