Who else is watching 24??? (Spoilers possible. Proceed with caution)

I'm way outside the loop. I don't know who Michelle is.

She's Tony's ex-wife. They split after he got arrested last year. Once he got out of jail he was drinking all the time and she couldn't deal with it.

Her return is good news for the show. Those two characters really added a lot to the script!

It was obvious early on that it would be Michelle. I'm surprised Tony didn't clue in. I loved his "we used to be married." Not to mention worked together. I liked Jack's scream before the electro bomb went off.

It looks like a lot of actors had 10-12 episode commitments!

I like how they talk about Division all the time but never really explain what it is. I don't have a clue. I wonder if we'll ever get to see it.

Corky's dad is the new bad guy!

I guess Paul is a good guy now.

As for the show, last night was the best episode so far (IMHO). Interesting about that mega magnet causing everything to fail. What a mess that would make.

Roberta

Interesting how everything was failing, cell phones, land phones, communication with the chopper, yet the Nextel walkie talkie phones those guys chasing Paul had, worked just fine LOL.

I noticed that too, but hey, the bad guys need all the advantage they can get before Jack has his way with them next week. And I'm so excited Michelle is back, it should make for some interesting tension between her and Tony. :flower:

You know, I noticed the same thing about the radios. DH is a big fan of the show too and is a RF design engineer. He was explaining to me all about how those bombs work before they showed that. I said, how are they talking on radios. if it effects electronics like that. He said they were "close range" radios and wouldn't be effected. They looked to be regular radios, not the cell phone walkie talkie type. I'll have to ask him to explain why they wouldn't be effected again.

We just LOVE LOVE LOVE this show!!

Update: I just IM'd DH to see what it was. He said he thought they were showing them talking before the bomb actually went off. If they were close range radios then they would be able to talk while it was warming up. He said if they showed it after the bomb went off then they did make a mistake there, unless they had ones set aside especially for this scenario, and the producers didn't show you them going to get them out of a special shield box.

Maybe someone else know more about these things.

I love that show. Last night, my out of town friend called during the show and even though our discussion was about our upcoming Disney trip, I had to half listen to the TV and the other ear was listening to the phone! What a terrible position to be in. :)

Jack's flashlight worked!

You are a better friend than me... I won't answer the phone when 24 is on. I got my brother (1400 miles away) hooked on it this year, and we IM through the whole show so I can catch him up on 'past history'... like Michelle.

Last season, I lost interest about half way through. Can someone tell me what had happened to Tony and his wife?

Last season dealt with biological weapon. CTU went to a hotel in downtown L.A. where it was said to be going off. Emergency Health Services (whatever they are called) had not been there yet to give CTU personnel those white suits. Michelle decided she was going in, because if the virus wasn't released yet, she was going to find it and stop it.
She went in along with all CTU agents with her. Virus was released anyway. Now they have to stay. Jack finds the madman who was doing this, and finds his daughter to use her as leverage to find out where the other virus vials were. Daughter is brought to CTU...she is trying to help them.
Michelle and Tony upset because she may die within 16 hours and they wont be able to see each other first.
Michelle finds out she is not infected-WHEW!! And has to be transferred to the hospital for further observation.
She gets kidnapped by the madman as leverage to get his daughter back. Jack has madman cornered and CTU agents surround building he is in and he calls Tony to call off the attack so he can get out. Tony does. Madman tells Tony to get his daughter out of CTU or your wife dies. Of course, Tony obliges...Tony has just committed treason.
Tony makes a deal with madman, they exchange daughter for Michelle, but daughter chickens out and does not want to go with him. Shoot out. Michelle and daughter safe with CTU.
Tony is held in interrogation room and is told he is going to prison for treason.
Michelle is disappointed he put her life ahead of millions of innocent Americans.
Season 4 only recently brought Tony in, he is out of prison because of Jack and ex-pres. Palmer. But he is down and out.
Last nites episode kinda touched on the Michelle and Tony problem, sounds like Tony had a drinking problem too.
We'll find out more about what happened to them next week. :lovestruc

I hope this helps.

Well thanks a lot!!! :teeth: Now I don't have to watch season 3 (I didn't start watching until this season).

Thank you, it helps a lot! :)

Wow, I'm impressed that Michelle walked out on Tony. If this was a run-of-the-mill action flick, she would have been grateful to be saved and swooned at his feet.

I know, that is probably the main thing I miss in 24, is more of the character's personal lives. All this action in one day, then another day starts up like 2-3 yrs later and next thing you know, they are kaput. I'm like "what happened???"
It was like the start of season 3, Jack is having a conversation with Kaye, and they obviously had a relationship, you just never got to see them really together. I miss that.
I'm excited for next week, because Tony and Michelle will talk about whatever happened in their marriage.
I just love those two together. :lovestruc

WOW!!

Ok. So who else is nervous as hell?

Another great episode. I wonder how Jack will get out of this one. Too bad they killed Dina (although we didn't actually SEE it) because I really enjoyed watching her.

Speaking of being nervous during 24, I find it kind of amusing that they have the cd soundtrack to the show advertised near the end of each episode. I mean, there is some good music on the show that adds to the tension and atmosphere in each scene, but it isn't the kind of thing I'd want to listen to while cooking dinner or driving around in my car. Seems it would inspire a lot of accidents with all these drivers listening to this spooky super intense music.

Or maybe it's just me.

I thought tonights episode had some big holes in it. Would they really have brought Paul back to CTU and not taken him to a hospital. Two weeks ago they said they couldn't handle Erin's kid but they can do surgery?

Dina is supposed to be smart, she should have know the gun had blanks, I figured Marwan would want Jack alive, why wouldn't she. Plus there were to many others there for her to get away with killing Marwan, she had a better chance if she killed Jack. I just think she would have killed Jack and taken her chances.

I know it's a TV show but sometimes it just drives me  .

Another 24 fan here - been watching since half way thru season 1 - ds got me hooked but good - can't do anything on Monday nights when I know it will be on - one of the few shows I put time aside for.

Dina was smart enough to know that she had no way out. They were going to kill her no matter what. Her anger caused her to "shoot" Marwan for the destruction he had caused her family.

CTU hospital is equipped to handle trauma - imagine all the wounds their agents must get, but they weren't equipped to handle a mental-type patient - although their staff members have so many "isms" you'd think they could! That's why he was brought to CTU. Besides, all the hospitals in that area would be without power.

Please don't get like my brother who tries to find every little glitch in every episode - many of which are explainable.

I guess Jack has to get snatched at least once per season! I never imagined that Fayid (sp?) guy was a red herring. I wonder what the pilot guy has planned. I think the Pres is on the ground now. It's getting pretty intense.

The actress playing Dina did an excellent job. Maybe the creepiest TV character in a long time.
