It would make it so much easier if the schools would send out supply lists either at the end of the previous year or early on in the summer.
Our district never tells the kids til they start school.
By that point, most of the sutff is picked over or all the great sales that run at the end of summer are over and you pay through the teeth!!
We went to staples yesterday and picked up some things, like pens, mead 5 star binders and notebooks. I made sure to tell the kids NOT to take the tags off the binders or write in the notebooks. I have the receipt and if need be, I can return them later (while I am getting whatever else comes home on the list!

Last year, we HAD to go to Staples on the first day back to school (the school requested a specific notebook that is ONLY sold there!). I swear, the only experience I can compare that to is shopping at Toys R Us on Black Friday!!!
