Who else is snowed in?????

Philly area here also.....just done shovel the first round must be close to 6 inches....pretty good for about 5 hours of snow....

They say that we should expect up to 2 feet...if this rate keeps up it will be more......

Our kids were already scheduled off tomorrow...hopefully they won't be called off on Tuesday....

Good thing we have lots of computers here no rotating with the kids for me....

My boys 9,10 went out to try to shovel driveways...i sure hope somebody puts them to work....they seemed extremely excited.....

Snowed in here too! We're in North Wilm., DE. DH just shoveled and now a few minutes later and it doesn't even look like he was out there! DD is taking her nap so now I get my DIS time!! :)
I can't believe its still going to be snowing tomorrow too! Yikes!

I'm so glad we were just down to WDW the beginning of this month - it was such a nice winter break!! :)

Keep safe everyone!

Gi

Everything here is closed. Roads are closed everything but emergencies only. I didn't make it to the store either!!!! :( Oh well, I'll survive.

Snowed in here. We are in South Central PA, pretty close to the MD border. Said we were to expect up to 3 feet of snow!!!!! I would say we have a good foot of snow now!!!

In Omaha, Friday was drizzly all day. In the evening it was raining slush.
I woke Saturday morning to a snow covered ground.
We got in all probably a foot of snow.
Friday after work DH *had* to drive to Des Moines and stay with his parents so he could run in a road race early Saturday morning.
Even Friday evening Des Moines was getting hit with snow.
By Saturday morning they had around a foot of snow. And the race was still on...
This was the annual Red Flannel run by the Des Moines Y. They refused to cancel and the city plowed a special path for the runners. They ran an out and back course three times to get in three miles. DH said approx 300 runners showed up.
But even then he had a hard time just driving around in Des Moines.
It stopped snowing in Omaha around noon yesterday. But the subdivision was a mess. Everyone who tried to leave had to have another neighbor come and give them a push sincve they all got stuck in the drives.
DH stayed an extra night and drove back this morning. He said Des Moines got hit with more snow and ice than Omaha.

Raising hand here too believe at least 8 inches or more on the ground now - with the forecast of 5 to 6 inches more with snow, sleet and freezing rain - yuck - my mom called a bit ago to report her hot water heater died but at least the furances are still cranking

Ugh! I'm in the middle of doing laundry, and our washers/dryers are in an outside (storm door entrance) basement. The last batch is in the dryer, but every time I go out there for the next round, the door is totally covered again and I have to search for the handle. I'd say we have well over 6 inches. Schools were already closed tomorrow, but who knows what Tuesday will bring.

Add to that my office just started a new policy that if you're out as an unscheduled absence the day before or after an office holiday, they can charge you for the holiday, too!! If we're snowed in, I'm going outside with my camera as proof!

Yeah, I'm snowed in too. I just heard the snow plow go by, but no one around here is venturing out! It's blowing like crazy out there!

I hate to start preparing my work stuff for tomorrow, cause I don't know what to expect.

I hope that this is the last storm to hit NJ and the surrounding area, for this year!:(

6" so far here in Pittsburgh. I swore I shoveled at least a foot, but I just took a yard stick out to the yard and it's only 6". Forecast says 10-12. Yuck! I have to work tomorrow, I'm hoping they say stay home! Not only the snow, but the wind chill is supposed to be near zero tomorrow morning. No way I'm driving, I'll have to trudge to the bus stop.:(

I am so glad that Jim was able to fly out of BWI in Baltimore, MD yesterday. How much snow is Baltimore expecting?

We are about 100 miles east of catsrule. There is probably 6 inches of snow on the ground and at least another 2 inches of solid ice on top of that. The sleet has been falling for almost 24 hrs solid now. You can't shovel the stuff it's solid ice!! You can litterally stand on top of the snow. DH had to run to store and it took the two of us together a good 15 minutes to chip all the ice off the car windows. It was at least a 1/2 inch thick. That was about 4 hours ago and the car is completely covered again.

Gettin' there! :bounce:

Oh, I'm not happy about it, just bouncing off the walls. :o

Yikes!

They just upped our totals to 20 to 25 inches!!! here Northeast of Philly!

I believe Baltimore is expecting around 30"!

Fox news just reported that Philly area could get up to 32"

It just keeps going up and up and up!!! I won't see DH for probably another week

I really don't know how much we have so far
but the wind is kicking in and blowing all over the place
we are expected to get 18-24 inches
At least I don't have to shovel it
we live in one of those communities where you pay every month and get plowing, salting, and grass cutting etc
I have off of work & DD has off for president's day tomorrow
so only DH is supposed to go to work & I keep telling him you aren't going to be able to go anywhere
but he doesn't believe me yet

We're snowed in here also. All of Atlantic and Cape May County are in a state of emergency, which means that no vehicles are allowed on the roads except for emergency vehicles. We have 12 inches already, with another 4-6 inches predicted overnight. When will spring ever get here?

And to think I was complaining when we had to wait out a 20 minure rain shower on the golf course today.....:p

Baltimore is expecting between 24 -36 inches depending on where you are. BWI is shut down for the rest of today and all state roads are closed to anything except emergency vehicles until 4am tomorrow (Monday am). If caught driving you are subject to $1000 fine and/or 1 year in jail.

I just listened to FOX news at 10:00 - we're supposed to have an additional 6-12" tonight - the storm is actually intensifying!

The boys and I have tomorrow off for President's Day, but DH has to go to work. I told him he might as well forget it. The snow is drifting badly, and we haven't heard or seen a snow plow all day. We're in the country, and there are spots that drift in quickly.

I think we'll just turn off all alarms in the morning and sleep in as long as the puppies will let us! I keep remembering where I was last year at this time............(WDW)
