Who else is job hunting right now?

I have an interview either tomorrow or Tuesday:cool1:. As I've stated before I need a job so that I can start the ball rolling on some other things. But......I had a wicked bout with a stomach bug this weekend that I am not 100% or 90% yet...so prayers for quick healing and an awesome interview would be great appreciated.

Prayers being said for your recovery and a positive outcome to your interview!

To the lawyer that posted earlier... there is a position in today's Scranton Times for a new lawyer with 0 - 2 years experience needed to join a Scranton firm... if you're not adverse to moving.

I'm only letting you know this because I don't often see ads for this type of job. I can get you more information if you want it.

DBF is still jobless.... I have searched some website, but I was wondering if any of you have some more suggestions... he is a Network Specialist is there a special website to look at to find some jobs locally? TIA

Good luck and hope you feel better!!

Okey dokey.....interview is in 2 hours and both my girls were up with the bug last night...thankfully they are old enough to stay alone...even if I hate doing it.

May this be a job finding week for all of us!!

Well, I've already gotten the thanks but no thanks e-mail....at least they didn't leave me hanging.

Well, Babytrees, look at it this way, you've had practice at the interview process. :sad1:

I got head-hunted yesterday for a contract to hire position. The pay is great and the company is stable. We'll see how that progresses.

Now, I'll make you all laugh. The job is about 15 miles from my house. I've never worked that far away from home before.

When I was growing up, people either didn't drive from Scranton to Wilkes Barre or when they did, they considered it a road trip. WB is about 12 miles from here. Yep, people around here are spoiled.

They even spoofed this phenomenon on The Office. Someone asked if they wanted to get lunch at Cugino's. The other person said, "no, that's all the way in Dunmore." Dunmore and Scranton, BTW, abut one another.

Well, yesterday was my last day at my full-time job. Everyone was so nice to me, and even bought me a birthday cake because they'd be missing out on my birthday next week. I have such mixed feelings about leaving right now.

But I did get a new case for my other job. It's only 3 hours for this case, but my supervisor told me she'd start me on a new one as soon as I get through the intake on this one. The paperwork is really intense and overwhelming, so she'd like me to get a handle on a couple of them before giving me a slew of cases.

You did the right thing, Mushy. If you are truly friends with any of your former coworkers, you will remain friends with them. Otherwise, they were just work friends. Plus, not to take anything away from you, but some offices will do anything for a reason to have cake. ;)

Feel better, yet?

UGH! The first university with which I interviewed, over a month ago, still hasn't made a decision.

I had a phone interview with another university last week for its development office. That's a better job than the first one. Bigger salary, plus a company car. I'm waiting to see if I get a second interview, in person.

I also applied this morning to be President & CEO of a local community bank. I have almost 25 years experience in banking management and I know I could run a bank. The only drawback I see is that I'm female and my town is very prejudiced toward men in management roles. The good thing is that the person to whom I sent my resume has known me and my family since HS. At least she has first hand knowledge of my ability to lead.

We shall see.... I want a job so badly that I can taste it.

Anyone else have any news to report?

Those jobs all sound *wonderful*!!! Someone has to see how much you have to offer.

I got more cases thrown at me for my other job. I'm pretty overwhelmed with it right now because there is no training and NO support whatsoever. I feel sick when I look at some of this paperwork and have no idea where to begin with it. But I guess I just plug along and do the best I can.

Those jobs sound great! Good luck!!

I had an interview today!!! I *think* it went well. Seems like an awesome opportunity. It's a paralegal job but I would be able to work from home 2-3 days a week and chose which days I go into the office unless we have a conference call with a client which would be perfect since my two boys are going to be in preschool three mornings a week next year and I was stressing out how I would get them to and from there.

They seemed to be a very family oriented company. The boss even brings his dogs in sometimes...LOL. And the attorney I would be working with said that there will be times you will see other's kids in there so it sounds like it's the perfect job for me! Just hope they think I'm perfect for it!!
