I'm only going for four nights and can't extend my trip so I guess no deal for me :-(
It is such a great deal, but I am not one of the lucky ones... I will be going to Disney on my tax return and will not be getting it back till Mid-Feb and the package has to be paid off at the end of Jan for my March trip..... oh well, maybe another deal will come out.One can only hope right??
Free dining doesn't save any money, its just convenient?Sorry, but I'm not sure where you got that info.
In June I booked our December 14 -22 Dream Christmas vacation our total was $4,700.00. I was able to apply the Disney Visa Free Dining code that came out in September and that made the total cost of our trip $3,100.00. Free Dining saved us $1,600.00! To me that's an incredible savings. If we go ahead and book our trip for the first week of may the new "deal" will save us about $500.00, which is a nice discount, but it's not $1,600.00.
But, I didn't say free dining was for everybody. I was pointing out to the previous poster that stated, "free dining doesn't save any money, it's just convenient," that free dining can be huge money saver. Just because you don't like the dining plan and choose not to do free dining, doesn't mean it's not an incredibly huge savings for a lot of people.where people talk about free dining be a good deal or not depends on what you do. For us, I will take any other deal besides free dining. We do not eat a table service meal every day, and having to have all our meals planned out months in advance is like torture for us. We found ourselves wasting credits and eating way too much food. I will take the room discount and tickets any day!
They usually release the fall free dining codes in April. Is there a chance Disney Visa will come out with a discount?

I think this promo is more targeted for people who stay deluxe or want to stay deluxe. Right now people are trying to save money, so they aren't booking WDW vacations right now and if they are, a huge majority of them are probably booking value or moderate to try to save some money. I think this promo is a push to try to fill the deluxes. Just my opinion though . . .I'm totally disgusted with this "promotion". For the past four years, we've gone to Disney in January on the free ticket upgrade promotion - which also included a 15% room discount. I've been waiting for the discount to be released so that I could book... I had expected to get the same promotion and figured my price to be $2075 (value resort, 7 nights, dining plan, two adults, two kids). With the new "promotion", that same trip is going to cost me $2,173 ($2,373 less $200 gift card). So, whoever called this deal "HUGE" wasn't talking to those of us who stay at value resorts...
I am, well sorta.
DH and I are AP holders and our tickets expire in March. We want to go in April for 10 days, for sure in Oct for 10 days and maybe a few weekenders in between.
So I do not know what to do. I can get the Poly CL for a week (forget the extra 2 nights) for $2400 and have the 7 day park hopper tickets or I can pay $700 for our AP's and hope a discount comes out.
Then when we go over the summer or if we hold out until Oct just purchase AP's then BUT I dont know if this is a good deal for me.
Someone help!

I am disgusted that people would think a deal is disgusting if they can't use it. I have not ever been able to take advantage of the free dining, it is still a good deal. I could never be in business, I would end up chewing out customers, the sense of entitlement just blows my mind.![]()
