Who else is dissapointed by this so called "deal"?

WOAH WOAH!! I am the OP and I never said the word DISGUSTED. Where did that come from?:hippie:
jensen. I was trying to defend jensen and her disappoinment and "disgust" at not saving the amount of money she was planning on. That is the original person who posted that. I am in no way referring to the OP of the entire thread.

I still don't get how some are saying this deal is always better than free dining. I am staying at a mod. and saving $642, not getting the gift card, but let's pretend that I am. The total is $842,
We have 2 A, 1 Jr. and 1 Child, that's $131 per day for dining times 7 days=
$917. So dining is better for us, especially since we are going after the gift card date.

I am sorry! ;)
Anyway, let's either end this thread or turn the tone of it around!!
Happy Happy thoughts!!!:lovestruc

After being called a liar, told that my thoughts and feelings are nonsense and being condesendingly called "dear" one too many times, I vote that the mods just shut if down.

This is the best deal in years.
Free dining does not save you this much money. If you go to value, least savings, in the first three months, with this deal, you save more than free dining for the same time period. Im not putting up the math again, I did earlier in the thread.
For us, 2 adults in a standard value room for 7 nights, free dining would save $560, 4+3 saves us 3 nights rent, or $250 plus the $200 card, so free dining would save us an extra $110. Do the math again.

I saved a few bucks but I think that the free Disney Dining is a better deal!

I may go back in Sept!!

My goodness, let me clarify myself. By OP I was referring to the poster (jensen) who originally wrote she was "disgusted." And I didn't say you or anyone else couldn't post on this thread and my opinion is not nonsense. You just don't want to admit you are being unkind to other posters. All I did was state the simple fact that this thread was started to vent feelings of dissappointment. You can most certainly post whenever and however you want dear, but I think you are really the only one who is coming off badly.

I don't want to appear coming off unkind? Let me tell you something about me. I do not care what other people think of me who do not know me. I was not being unkind, I was posting disbelief that people where disgusted that although they where getting a good deal already and that I felt people should be more thankful...my OPINION, you know, that thing you think everyone else is entitled to on the thread except for me. The only ones coming off badly are the ones that tell other people what their hearts and minds are feeling and thinking. Again, I am thrilled with the code, I am thrilled for people who get to use the free dining code or any other and I am disappointed in those that are not grateful but choose to complain. So please keep being hypocritical...:sad2:

...Why are some people getting so crazy upset because this may not be the best deal for everybody?:confused3

Because this is the DIS, where people aren't allowed to vent their disappointment about ANYTHING without somebody getting their panties in a twist.

Let's say you spent a week in Disney, and they somehow ran out of all food except lima beans. So the only thing you ate all week were tons and tons of lima beans. You could come back to the DIS and post that while your week in Disney was wonderful, you were a little disappointed in the 24/7 lima bean diet.

I guarantee you there would be posters (you know who you are!) who would rip you a new one for daring to say you were disappointed.

Try not to take it personally. I'm used to it by now, but it still gets old. :goodvibes

I am not one of "those" posters thanks so much, in fact I hardly post. I do however find it sad when people come back and complain that the whole trip was great but that it was ruined and they are never coming back because they only got two towel animals the whole week or something of that caliber.

Many of us are going to Disney in the next six months, that is something to be HAPPY:dance3: about, especially if we get any kind of deal that makes it less expensive. I chose to focus on that and if others want to focus what I consider nitpicky things, so be it...but guess what? I get to post a dissenting opinion, just like you do. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for this nice post! You're right, there are always those who are going to be argumentative and unkind. I just have to let it go and not take it personally. Thanks!!!!:goodvibes

For us (2 at Pop) the savings including the gift card came to 416.00. I am happy with this discount but it isn't as much as free dining would have been for us. I was honestly thinking that when they said the "biggest discount ever" kinda thing it was going to be beyond belief...having said that I feel that folks that stay at mod and deluxe resorts probably had a much larger savings than free dining would have been so it benefits them more..all in all I am still very happy with no complaints. That doesn't mean I can't hope for a 40% discount..lol....we are staying one extra day so that 40% would cut that down a little bit.

I am very happy too! We are now going for our 15th anniversary and for Mother's Day now. I was sad that we where not going for Christmas but thankful for the times we have been able to go. One of these years I hope I can make it during free dining and the MNSSHP. People at my DH's work are in disbelief that this is the third time in a row so to speak that we have gone to Disney and I tell them I am in disbelief that you ask that, there is so much to do at Disney and each trip is different. :goodvibes

Was this deal ever offered before? I never remember seeing this offered to the general public. Maybe to passholders, but I don't remember seeing this three-free-days thing offered for everyone on TV and such.:wizard:

Just a reminder that everyone here is allowed to have an opinion. If you don't agree with someone don't attack them.

There are times you may need to step away from the keyboard instead of posting.

Thank you.

I think it was a number of years ago - I seem to remember a 7 for 5 deal and I think a 7 for 4 deal (in the years following 9/11).

With this deal and with not offering the values in the free dining for the UK, I think Disney is recognizing that they can still have a high enough occupancy rate in the values even during a recession but they need to provide serious promotions to bring up the occupany rates of the moderates and especially the deluxes.

As I posted about 5 pages ago, I knew this was a good deal for me ... I just hadn't realized HOW GOOD a deal it was for me until now.

I already knew that, for the same price, I traded 4 nights at Coronado Springs and 3 nights at Contemporary MK view (and both of these were room-only with a nice AAA discount, plus a separate 8-day park hopper ticket for each of us) for all 7 nights at Polynesian MK view. Good trade for the same price, right?

But I just looked at my package on the WDW website, without the discount. For 7 nights at Poly MK view with 8-day park hoppers for 2 adults and 2 kids it's quoted as $5491.44. But with the promotion, the reservation I made over the phone, that exact same trip is costing me ... get ready for this ... $3288 (I deducted the $200 gift card, as it's really the same as cash in my pocket).

That's a savings of $2,203. That's two THOUSAND two hundred and three dollars ... and 44 cents.

So at least for me, this is a H-U-G-E deal. I would never have stayed in this high-end room at the Poly for all 7 nights without this deal.

I understand DISAPPOINTMENT...but disgust? At what? That Disney is a business and has employees to pay besides other things and as a business they need to make a profit? How dare they! Who does Disney think they are? Jeez, people just are not thankful anymore for anything. It seems no matter how much people get they demand more. I think the free dining is a good deal, I can not go at that time for various reasons...am I disgusted? NO, I am thankful that I even get to go to Disney and am glad that it is available for people that can go at that time that might not even be able to go if it was not for this deal.

Well said. Comparing this deal to the free dining deal is utter folly. For the time of year this promo covers, it is indeed a HUGE deal. Just look at the history of deals during peak season. This is indeed one of the best deals during this time frame in years. You just can't compare a free dining deal in the fall offseason with this. One is OFFSEASON, one is PEAK Season.

I think those complaining don't understand the difference in time frames which is necessary to do to evaluate any deal
