Who else is being bugged by cicadas???

I'll just bet we get them any day now. YUK YUK YUK YUK!!!
 
I just dodged my first one today. it looked like a small missle w/ wings coming at me. How can I survive six weeks??????
 
Hee hee, I'm leaving for Hawaii May 21 for 8 days. Gosh darn it, I'm gonna miss the critters for a week.:p :teeth:

We are still wating for the first one to come out here. DS keeps looking. DD graduates in June and we are having an outside party. I hope they aren't too bad.
 
We have some! A couple of houses up they're everywhere. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before we see tons! Here are some pics:

Everyone keeps saying every 17 years, but in Pittsburgh, I remember them being EVERYwhere about 5 or 6 years ago. It was like an invasion. I had no AC in my car at the time, and couldn't even roll my windows down because they would fly into my car and buzz around my head. It's so creepy...

I'll take a couple of big roaches (I've never seen one fly though) over billions or trillions of swarming cicadas any day. It must be similar to when grasshoppers get bad and you can't walk through the grass without them jumping everywhere. But luckily grasshoppers stay in the grass and don't fly (and they are a little less icky!) I feel sorry for all of you.
