Who else has a cupboard full of Disney mugs?

we have a good many of both refillable & ceramic - have the classic walt & mickey - the old mary poppins dark blue - the old movie mugs - and just bought the new classic pals mugs - we use the old ceramic as planters - and the refillable (the newer ones - not the old wilderness lodge ones) in our tailgating box so that we can have warm drinks on cold tail-gating days

We reuse our Disney refillable mugs every day - they run through the dishwasher quite nicely, and one of the older, wide body ones is out on the side porch as an insullated water bowl for the little ferrel cat in my area. But 2 of my cabinets are now 2/3 full of these plastic tribbles. The only way I'll buy another cup is if they change up the design, or if we forget to buy soda from WeGoShop.

This is my thought exactly. When you go to the Animal Kingdom, you hear about how environmentally conscious Disney is, so why not let me bring back my mug and reactivate the chip for a reduced rate. I know that you can reactivate them for the full price, but why should I pay full price for a mug that isn't new? I have limited cabinet space and I have stopped buying the mugs all together because I don't want to see them ending up in a landfill. I would much rather "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

As much as I love Disney, Disney's environmental conscious is only there if the financial numbers align up just right. The mugs are the in-our-face proof of that.

Sometimes though a company has to suck it up and do the right thing. It shocks me that Disney has not addressed the situation as it's not only out where every guest can see and notice it, but it's actually in our hands, and comes home with most of us reminding us on a daily basis of how their "dedication to the environment" is just lip service to make us go "aw, that's nice".

Each time I visit I buy 2 new ceramic mugs for coffee / tea in our room. The ones in the rooms are just way too small. I love drinking out of them once we get home. Good memories. Lots of refillable mugs as well.

I think we need to start holding DISboard Refillable Mug Adoption events. I just can't bear to think about those little tribbles being recycled or put down.

Sell them on Ebay! There are a lot of collectors out there!

Well, that's what I do with them.:goodvibes

I wonder if I've purchased some of yours? :lmao: My collection started with the resort mugs from my trips. It just didn't seem complete so I started buying ones off ebay from other resorts. Then I branched out to the waterparks, the mini golf courses and now, the parks - different years, celebrations ... :goodvibes
