Who else has a cupboard full of Disney mugs?

Is it just me or do you have trouble throwing away old refillable mugs? :surfweb:

Over the past 8 years we've accumulated quite a collection. I can almost remember each time the kids grabbed those new shiny mugs off the rack and filled them for the first time. Some of these gotta go.

Any creative ideas before they get chucked in the trash?

I donated them to my parish festival, to be given away as prizes for the kids games. They were all very gently used, since we would use them for one 4-7 day trip, and get new ones the next time. I would have been more inclined to keep them as souvenirs if they had continued to have different designs for different resorts and different events.

We have 8+ in our cupboard. We used to take our old mugs, and then give the new (unused) mugs to teachers with a paneras/starbucks giftcard inside.
Now that we have to use the new ones for that trip, I will consider giving to our church for prizes.
I also use one all the time for coffee at home and to take to work--the lids are great---I have drop ones upside down only a few drop came out. People kid me at work and I say it takes me to my happy place!

I'm an avid coffee cup collector with specific rules. The mug must have been purchased by me when I'm at the location, or as a gift from somebody who has been at the location, no ordering online, etc. That being said, I have no problem throwing the plastic refillable mugs away, but when it comes to ceramic mugs, let's just say we're set for many lifetimes when it comes to Disney mugs!

First I make sure I have the lids that go with the travel mug(we always lose one :lmao:), When I don't want it any more(do to over flow) I clean it up and fill it with stuff for my grandkids/great nieces or nephews . They love getting them and it cleans out my cabinet.

My wife and I are not coffee drinkers, but we do have a few Disney mugs. We take them to work as pen and pencil holders. I found mine arranged like this one morning and took this photo.

We hardly ever buy the refillable mugs, we may have 4-5 at home from over the years.

My issue is with the ceramic mugs, we probably have 12 or so between my wife and I. I just received the Jungle Book mug I ordered online, so that's my new favorite. I usually bring a new mug home from each trip, so pretty soon I'm gonna have to start throwing some away.

I have 16 refillable Disney mugs in my cupboard, and just can't bring myself to throw them out. If only they had changed the design in the past 4 years...

We've never been a fan of the refillable mugs -- but do have many Disney Ceramic mugs. We've told one another, "No more!" but can't seem to stick to that resolution. ;-)

That said, we have two sets of refillables: The first is from the Yacht Club, circa 1990's. The next is from Aulani, 2011 -- the Kona coffee refills were too good to pass up!

Edited to add: We carry the refillables along with us on various travels. The thought being, "If we lose them, oh well, no big deal." Our Aulani mugs were recently recognized in NYC at the Manhattan Club (sparked a conversation) and were carried back to WDW last week for IBM Connect2014. (We don't use the refill stations -- they were mostly used on the airplane flights.)

Wish they stacked better or even fit close together in cupboards. They don't, so we don't buy them.

We have several, and we use them daily. We finally got rid of the ones from 2005 because the picture was completely gone. The 2007 ones will have to go soon too. I wish they were Tervis tumblers so the pictures wouldn't wear off.

We do! We had 3 from our 2011 trip (old design), 4 from 2012 and then we got 12 last summer. We had a split stay (BLT, AKL, POFQ) and we were on the DP. We used the first 4 and kept the other 8 unused mugs to give as gifts.

Your cupboard sounds like mine :lmao:. I have 2 long shelves of Disney ceramic mugs, which I use each day. I do have a couple non Disney ones too that I use but those are few and far between :goodvibes. As for the refillable mugs....yeah, we have quite a few of those too. My kids use them on a daily basis at dinner, or when it is nicer weather outside, they take the lids and use them while playing. I too wish that the designs would go back to the resort specific designs, and that way I would have a very nice collection of refillable mugs in my cupboard along with my ceramics. But alas, they aren't so I just cycle out the old and keep the new ones until my cupboard gets too full with them and I need to make room for our next trip's ones :goodvibes.

We have 12, including Dixie Landings, 3 all star sports and a waterpark one. The rest are the newer design that we've gotten over the last few years. The kids love them, and I love that they don't sweat and have lids. Wish they would change the design!

Our last trip in Oct we just had totally full luggage, so we just left them in the room. I hated it, but was not worth trying to stuff more in our bags!

We are the same. We buy two every trip. The first person up in the morning gets to pick the ones we drink from. I told DH today that I am running out of room so he has to buy me a house with bigger kitchen.:rotfl2:
