Who else finds the value resorts completely unappealing?

I'm just going to take the comment to mean that Americans who stay at Value resorts are the most patriotic of the bunch. It even mentions them on the Statue of Liberty. You know, those "huddled masses yearning to breathe free." (And after a full day at a Disney theme park, most of us are "your tired, your poor" as well.)

Perhaps we should all try phrasing our opinions more carefully and be more considerate of others. How can we expect the world to be a peaceful place when a vicious debate can begin over WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT PREFERENCES? Think about what Walt created it FOR and who he really was and this debate seems really foolish and sad. Let's all think positive and remember that in order to enjoy your vacation, you have to enjoy LIFE!

This will be our 1st trip to WDW and we are staying at ASmo. I gave DD4 a choice after showing her lots of pictures of all the resorts and ASmo it was. I'm sure the moderate & deluxe resorts are wonderful, but we are not planning to stay in our room except to sleep and would rather spend money on other things. DD4 is excited about her choice and after all this is HER trip!!! I think your resort choice is a personal preference and as long as your happy whether it be value or deluxe then that is all that matters!!!:)

You are mostly correct.

However, this isn't a question of preference for many, it's a question of what is possible and what is not.

It would be one thing if this thread was about "Does anyone else find Splash Mountain unappealing?"

It wasn't, it was created with a completely negative title to rag on a CLASS of resort.

I know many of those people who posted offensive comments simply don't know any better, and probably won't now - look how steamed up a few of them got (a little too defensive, it felt like - several people swore in their replies) and the OP even said she expected it to happen.

How many of the people who posted in this thread would walk up to a mixed group of people, some of whom have an economy class car, and say, "Ugh, I could never drive that type of car - am I the only one who finds it unappealing?"

Same difference here. It's called tact, and some members of this board don't seem to have an ounce of it (or they forget it once they get to hide behind a keyboard).

We haven't stayed there in many years, but we enjoyed them very much when we did. Very much indeed.

And my kids loved staying there and remember them fondly (sports and music, movies wasn't built yet). I think if i said we were staying there this year, they would be happy with that choice as well.
In fact, they would be happy staying anywhere, as long as it's onsite. We've stayed at Movie, Sports, Dixie Landings, Poly, CR, OKW, WL, AKL, GF, Boardwalk Inn, Yacht Club, Beach Club, and in the YC, BC, AKL, WL and GF concierge. And we've enjoyed each and every place we've stayed and would be happy and thrilled and pixie dusted in any of them.

This year is the OKW, mainly because we need a kitchen as food has become a problem for us.
