Oh my gosh. I'm not gonna lie...I choked up when I read this!
I only have a month to go until WDW and everyday for the past few weeks, every time something "Disney" comes on, I start to choke up. Yesterday, my DD10 was watching the "surprise Disney trip" videos on youtube and I was sobbing like a baby. I've had such a stressful few months at work and I'm really looking forward to the relief of WDW with my amazing family. And I know for certain that I will be one of the, as Ursula sings "poor unfortunate souls" in MCO crying on my way back home.
for everyone!
My kids and I were watching those videos, too...and I went from crying at the sweet ones, to getting mad at the ones were the kids were not excited!
I cry when I leave WDW...especially the first trip, when it was our last night at MK and we stayed until closing. Mickey was near the train, with a spotlight on him, waving and saying "See ya Real soon!" (piped-in Mickey voice GETS me!!!) and I bawled like a baby!
I, too, have just had an awful year at work. Plus just a tough year overall. I am 43 and my parents get mad at me for going to WDW...say we should go to other places (we do!) and that it is dumb. A pin code and some Southwest miles made this trip affordable. So we are just not telling anyone we are going! We refer to it as the trip to REDACTED LOCATION. But we went to our local AAA baseball team that had a "Disney Night", and they did fireworks after the game set to Disney music and my DH said, "I can't wait until we go to REDACTED LOCATION!"....and I cried then, too...shoot, I cry when I hear that song they play on the current commercials for WDW, "It's gonna be a good life..." and I cry because they say things like "there is only so much time to be a family" or some such. I love my kids and my husband. We have a blessed life. But I can say our trips to WDW have really been some of our best memories...my kids are teens now and they do not want to go off on their own on our upcoming trip because they say they love being together there as a family. This will be our last trip for a long time, as my DD is going to college and my DS is entering high school, so tears WILL be shed.

for everyone!

I was actually thinking am I kinda of weird or what? Sometimes I feel jealous of the guests that don't actually miss it when they leave. It is so easy for some to say "well we might visit again in 5-10 years" We will be saving as much as we can in the next three years. We just visit WDW this past June 2012. We are planning our first trip ever to DL for July 2013(a whole year away). Then we are planning for WDW in June 2014. Then we want to take a trip with extended family in June 2015( it will be my trip with little girls) We have one DS(soon to be 12) so I want to experience the princess thing. Oh my DS's age makes me sad too because each trip he is a little bit older. I asked him after this trip about the next three summer vacations being at DL or WDW.(we usually visit WDW every other year). He made me sooo happy when he said "Cool it will be so much fun". So see ya Mickey in 2013, 2014 & 2015
Fantasy can only last so long for me, then it's back to reality.

I look over at my DS (9 or 10 at the time) and tears are streaming down his face. When I asked him what was wrong he said that he was sad the trip was over and we had to go home in the morning.
