Who do you use for grocery deliveries??

There seem to be a couple grocery delivery threads going. I posted this yesterday...

I haven't used either ...yet, but think that GG's prices seem a bit high. They are apparently building their fee into the price of the groceries. I think the delivery is free after $200 and only $12 if you spend under $200.

I like WeGoShop's fee structure better. They have a fee for delivery plus actual cost of groceries that you list from what ever store you choose. Seems much more upfront and perhaps cheaper. Their web site leaves something to be desired, but their service has gotten good reviews. GG website is beautiful and so easy to pick and choose the food, but there have been a handful of unhappy reports (of course out of many many happy ones). In either case, you are hiring just a couple people to buy and deliver your food and either will save you money over eating at Disney!

WeGoShops rates...

Shop and Delivery Rates:

Grocery total up to $100.00 = $17.00 shop & delivery fee
Grocery total between $100.00 - $200.00 = $22.00 shop & delivery fee
Grocery total between $200.00 - $300.00 = $32.00 shop & delivery fee
Grocery total over $300.00 = 12% of grocery total shop & delivery fee

*Please Note: The above rates and fees apply to local residents and vacationers staying inside of Disney World Resorts and are cash / check discount prices. Please add an additional 3% of grocery total for any other payment option. The shop & delivery fee is one fee, there is not a seperate shop fee and a seperate delivery fee.

Used wegoshop at OKW a few weeks ago. A+++ great service and I thought the fee was reasonable. Very friendly also.

We use garden grocer. They were very nice and were able to get any item we wanted not on the main list. :thumbsup2

We've used gardengrocer.com and loved it! Very easy, convenient and the prices seem reasonable. We were even able to order beer in the comments section--a big money saver.

We always get a car and I like Publix but...I think next trip I'm going to give wegoshop a try. It's worth $17 to me to make a detailed list at my leisure and not have to spend a hour wandering the aisles with the kids trying to find everything. Inevitably I miss something on the list.

Hi, I'm not a DVC member, can I still post here? :rolleyes1

I know this thread had been "off" for a while, but I had a question maybe you guys could answer...

We'll stay for 18 days at POFQ in about 2 weeks (yay! ) and since we'll fly in and take DME, we'll need grocery delivery. I'm hesitating between WeGoShop and Garden Grocer, but I'm mostly wondering about one thing... Milk!

See, I can't live without my milk... Can't see myself enjoying a leftover pastry without it... But mostly, I need to take pills at night, and those need to be taken with a little bit of food, and I prefer milk...
I heard the little store at POFQ doesn't even carry milk  , and I don't see myself carrying milk across POR to POFQ under the hot Florida sun... not too good for milk to stay fresh! :crazy2:
All to say, I was thinking on having milk delivered with our water and my Gatorade (yep, that's about it!... :confused3 But hey, we really need those beverages and won't pay 10 times the price in resort!).

So 1st question : Does WGS deliver cold/perishable items? I didn't see any clear answer about that on their website and whenever people talk about their experience with them here, the list never includes fruit, meat or... milk! So I still wonder.

2nd question : If we pay by credit card or Paypal (with whatever of the 2 companies) and are NOT in the room or on property when they deliver (for whatever reason) and they leave the stuff with bell services... Do bell services have a cooler or something to keep my milk cold? Or do we need to make really sure we're there for the delivery?

Thanks a lot! :flower3:

We've used WeGoShop for the past four years and never had any problems. This past Christmas, we had a grand villa at BWV and used WeGoShop with a hugh grocery order for all of the families. Not one problem with getting everything by brand or otherwise. Marge did really good with that order. This coming June I'm using them again for just two of us and expect the same great service from them.

I think all the resort stores will carry milk. If not, take the boat over to DTD from POFQ and then walk to SSR to buy some milk from the store there.

Do you tip on top of the delivery fee? Also, if we have 3 families in a grand villa will they do separate orders for each family?

Our bill was about $110 total (groceries plus fee) and we gave the guy a $20 tip. I have no idea what the norm would be- but it was worth it to us, basically I tipped him like I would a pizza guy.

Yes, they both delivery perishables. Otherwise, I don't see the point in using them. I've gotten eggs, milk, meat etc...

And if you are not there when they deliver the bell service will just keep it in their refrigerator/freezer they have.

We have used Garden Grocer 4 times and always found them to offer great service. I will be using them again in October.
