One of the times I dined was 12/10 at 1:45 pm. We didn't get seated until 2:15 because there was such a line of package people wating to get into Biergarten. The food was great. I told the waitress that I was going to have my mother pay for my meal and as soon as I ate I would be leaving to get on line. I got on line approx. 2:45 and my mother didn't get to the line until 3:30. She said it took that long to get the bill. By the time she came to me on line, it had already reached into Japan.

We did the pkg. at Chefs de France on Dec. 9th at 4 pm for the 6:45 cp show. The cm commented they were happy we were a few minutes early.

For the meal dh had: french onion soup, beef tenderloin, potatoes au gratin and green beans. For dessert he had the seasonal sorbet. Coconut, raspberry and mango with huge amounts of fresh blackberries, strawberries and blueberries. It was freezing out so I dont know why he picked that.

I had the salad with blue cheese dressing, same entree and the creme puffs with chocolate sauce thing for dessert. Added bonus: Remy was there!

For the cp seating we were in the 6th row right behind the gold reserved rows for the conductor and narrarators guests. This is handicapped seating. It was so cold I just stayed in the wheelchair for the show. We skipped illuminations because of the cold.

Yes I've seen the crazy line.

That is an awsome answer. Sorry it was so cold.:santa:

Had similar experience as luvmarypoppins except we were there the next night 12/10 at 3:50 for 6:45. I also had the same salad, entree and dessert as she did. Originally ordered the short ribs but the waitress talked me out of it and on to the steak. It was good and cooked perfectly. Others had the chicken and said it was very good and I think the kids had hamburgers.

The CM managing the waiting line said there were 200 in line ahead of us, when we got in it was just past Japan. We were in the 3rd row. Very good show but cold wind made it uncomfortable outside.

Curious about this info as well for my Xmas 2011 trip planning-- planning on Biergarten...never tried it before and DH loves a buffet!

The Biergarten was the least expensive. I got the lunch package for 32.99 plus tax and tip.

We had a 1:45 pm reservation for R & C for the 5 pm CP on 12/13; boy was it cold & windy. It didn't stop the crowds though! Anyway, we showed up early at 1 pm & surprisingly were seated less than 5 minutes later. Staff there was so nice, especially our server, Sarah, from Wales.

For the CP lunch pkg (38.99 each), I had the filet & hubby the shepard's pie. Starters were the cheese sampler (awesome!) & the scotch egg. Dessert was lemon tart & sticky toffee pudding. We each had hot tea for our included beverage with dessert. We added on 1 pint of hard cider & 1 beer to our cost ($8 each), so with tax, before gratuity, our bill was close to $100.

We didn't get in line until almost 4:30 & 10 minutes later, we were being seated & had really great seats; it was just unbelievably cold. Everyone was in good spirits, though, & Stephen Curtis Chapman was very good. We would definitely do this again if we wanted to ensure a seat. If the weather was milder, we would probably be content to stand outside & listen since we've already done the package once. I wouldn't want to wait on the nonpackage line (it was super long and probably people lined up quite early).

I will say this, though. Be there early even with the package (30 minutes at least). Some people who had bought the package were very disappointed to find no seating available in front when they showed up right before it started; some even showed up up to 15 minutes after it started! I think some may have been seated in the hearing impaired section because the stadium was quite full after the people in the nonpkg line were seated. The late arrivals could have been because they got out of their restaurant lunch later than expected if it was busy, so maybe try an earlier lunch time (1:30).

We just did the package for 12/15; when I booked it in August I wasn't even thinking about how cold the 8:15 show might be... we were freezing even with several layers each! We had a ressie for 5:30 at Chef's de France but showed up at 5:05 because I was hoping to see Remy (and got to! :goodvibes ) since they sat us within 2 minutes - my parents barely got to sit down!

Food was alright, my Mom and I ordered the same thing, the fruits de mer, but it was not nearly filling - two small scallops, two regular sized shrimp, a tiny portion of salmon and exactly 6 potato gnocci in a thin tomato broth. I was so very glad I had decided to order and pay for the onion soup or I would have been starving! My father had the chicken and said the carrots it came with were the best he had ever had and was also happy with his chicken. The brulee at least was to die for :cloud9:, but I did leave hungry and I usually can't finish a meal without being overly stuffed in WDW! The server was very cold; she was obviously annoyed when Remy came over at the same time she came to take our drink order and tried not to make eye contact the whole time, nor did she say anything more than take our order and ask if it was OK. When the bill came though she knelt down and _circled_ the tip portion and said we owed her that in addition to paying for our extras. No, ma'am, it is a tip, a gratuity and ultimately optional, so that struck me as awfully rude to tell me I HAD to pay it! I mean, I did, but still, she didn't need to make me feel coerced into it. :sad2:

We finished and had some time to kill so we wandered through the countries until about a half hour prior to the show - we did not want to stand in a freezing line longer than we had to. Because of this our options were the front row or the sides so we sat down front which meant we couldn't see Steven Chapman but we COULD see the procussion section and man, I had no idea how perfectly oiled a machine they had to be to make all the proper sound effects at the right time! The woman and man working the drums were perfectly in time and were handing mallets back and forth and making it all seem effortless - in the end I'd rather watch them than a man talk any day! The music was the best part - the voices were beautiful and the compositions unique - the conductor was amazingly animated too!

I'm glad we did it once since we have never done it before, especially since we were on the 'free' dining plan - it would have been over $200 total out of pocket for the three of us - ridiculous! - but in the future I would rather save the $$$ and just stand up above where you can hear the music since there isn't much to 'see' per se - just people singing and the orchestra playing.

Is anyone willing to share how much $$$$ it was?:santa::santa::santa::santa:

Chefs de France
$61.99 (adult) not sure if that included tax, don't think it did and for sure didn't include tip or alcohol
$17.99 (9 & under)

I'm glad we did it but probably wouldn't do it again for a few years.

About now is when I gulp and say wow that an expensive dinner, lunch seema almost doable, but even then....Thanks for taking the time and posting your info and opinions.
Merry Christmas:santa:

We did Biergarten for lunch on 12/02. Got in line about 45min before hand. The downside it wasn't totally dark so you lose some effect, the up side. It was already getting cold. We left Epcot as soon as it was over as we were already getting cold.

The food was all excellent and we had the German band playing for about 35min while we were there (they do a Christmas show) we were a party of 6 and all enjoyed it.
