I am looking at staying at OKW in March, can you tell me a little about this resort. What size room did you stay in, looking to stay in a 2 bedroom. Last time updated, condition of rooms? Stayed at POR in Sept. and thought resort needed updating. Thanks for your help!

we are owners at OKW and have stayed in the studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom. all the rooms are in excellent shape. the 2 b-room we stayed in(july 02) had just been through rehab and was great! there are new washer/dryers in the unit, excluding the studios. in the 1 b-room we had in december had a dvd player. since this is a DVC resort, i am always seeing constant updating as it is our maintainence fees at work! i don;t think you will be disappointed. the restaurant on site, olivia's, serves a great breakfast!

Be careful stonewall1 after staying @ OKW you may never want to stay in a regular room again! Or you may be bitten by the DVC bug.

You've been warned. :D

Enjoy OKW! It's a great resort! Very relaxing!

VWL and BCV are our home resorts, and I love them, but I also love staying at OKW. The rooms are the largest of the DVC resorts, and are very nicely furnished and decorated. We've stayed in a studio, one and two-bedroom. I can't say enough about how much we like this resort. DH and I took my mom in October, when we stayed in the one-bedroom, and she also loved it. In fact, she almost hated to leave the room to go to the parks. She's not a big walker, and was content to sit and relax, watching tv, reading magazines, and sitting out on the patio while DH and I ran around the parks during the day. She did go out with us usually in the morning, and the evening. We've stayed in the Turtle Pond section twice, and once at South Point. Liked both locations. Bus transportation was very good, and the boat ride to DTD was the best! We've also had breakfast at Olivia's a few times; very, very good. Never had the chance to have dinner there, though, but am looking forward to it eventually. Have a great time!:D

We stayed there just last wknd and it was soooo nice. We had a 2 bdrm ground floor unit in bldg 28. It was very quiet. The place was very clean. The appliances were all new(flat top oven, dvd player). Both bedrooms had tv's,which was nice. The only thing i wasn't thrilled about(and this is just weird me)is that in the master bath,,there are louvered shutters right by the jacuzzi tub. So at anytime, your kids could rush in and whip them open and go "blaahhhh!!"LOL. Also,,in the master,,the bathroom door is in the part where the toilet and shower are,,not where the tub is. So you can use the toilet or shower in complete privacy, but to have complete privacy in the tub, you'd have to shut the bedroom door,as theres no door to close off the tub.(does that make sense?) We were there w/our inlaws, and gave them the master. I wanted to soak in the jacuzzi tub, tho,,thinking i could just shut the bathroom door, but it didn't work that way. Other than that,it was roomy, pretty and nice. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We've been owners there since it opened in 1991. We've stayed in a studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedrooms. We really like the 2 bedroom villas and have stayed in only those for the past 5 years or so now. We always rent a car and have always found getting to anywhere to be very easy. The resort is spread out and we love that aspect of it, but some people don't like the fact that you need to take the internal bus or walk sometimes a long walk to the main pool, restaurants, etc. They are constantly updating rooms all over WDW and if you get one that needs updating I believe it really is luck of the draw. We've never had a problem in any of the villas we have stayed in at OKW and we have stayed in MANY!!

Have a Wonderful Vacation!!

OKW... Outstanding! Our home resort is the BWV
but the OKW villas are about 15-20% larger. We've stayed in a 2br and
a Grand Villa.... The 2br is wonderful -the master BR has a king bed, and that's
where the Jacuzzi tub is. the 2nd BR is 2x queen beds with its own bathroom.
All of the DVC 1BR/2BR/GV villas have a washer/dryer in the villa, except that
the OKW villas have a laundry room! You will be SO spoiled.
We have been very spoiled since we joined DVC -we rented a room on a cash
basis the first time, and after we saw the 1br villa we looked at each other and
said "ok, when are we going down to talk to the sales folks...."
the extra room is worth it... I love concierge service, but our DVC membership
is worth its weight in gold...

have fun!!!
John...
