Who buys 10 days and saves them?

I am confused about whether to go ahead and buy 10 days when I really need 7 or 8. I know that they are cheaper per day, the more days you buy, but then you have to add on no expiration, and then if a good package deal comes out for your next trip, you would have to use the new tickets. Decisions Decisions. The only way I can see using these is if staying off site at one point, and I can't imagine doing that. Help me decide!

Well even if you book a package next time- you can get any amount of days tickets you don't have to get tickets for the whole package. A lot of people book packages w/a 1 day base ticket and then use old tickets- doesn't matter.

I do!! You never know when you can sneak in a trip.

If you have 3 days left on the next trip you could spend more time at DTD, Golfing, swimming and not do the parks so much so you would get 2 trips out of the hoppers.

Just be careful because I'm sure a lot of people forget they have them.

I do. We only go every 2 or 3 years, and I know that 3 years from now the price of tickets will have gone up quite a bit. So the tickets I bought last year for our trip this year will be worth even more in 2 or 3 years. Any days we have left will more than pay for the cost of the no expire option. If I need to buy a package, then I will buy a 1 day ticket. And if I need to buy more than a single day, then these tickets will be good for the next time we go.

I hoard my tickets with their papers in my safe deposit box.

Plan on using 10 + 5 tickets for 3 different trips over the next 6 years. I do write on each ticket with a permanent marker how many days are left.
Twice i've had demagnetized Disney tickets(on first use) and once had a USF tickets that was cancelled after a year of nonuse- just had to have them reissued at Guest Services. So i do carry receipts of tickets with me on trip.

Seems like the ticket price's keep going up so we can buy a 10 day and cover to trip's without price increase. :goodvibes :) :wave2:

Me too!! Although dd, 12, and I usually have APs, I just bought my dh a 10 day hopper, non-expire. I know he isn't going to be going back within the 365 day period, but he will be back in the summer of '07 (or thereabouts). Just makes more sense to do it that way for him.

I did this for the first time in January. I knew I would be back again soon but I wasn't sure if it would be within the year so I didn't get an AP. This way I don't have to worry about ticket costs when planning my next trip. I didn't think of keeping the reciept though. I hope it doesn't get demagnetized.

i probably would if the non expiring thing wasn't so expensive for 10 day passes. we bought aps last trip and only went once so that was enough money to burn;)

Okay- you convinced me- now another question - 10 day non expiration vs. AP. I have a trip to the Poly planned in Dec. When AP rates come out, if they are better, should I just keep my 10 day non expiration ticket for myself, so I can get the dining package. (I realize I can just buy the one day, but the 10 day can be saved right)? And then get my AP rate using my AP and let the family use whatever part of their 10 day non-expiring hopper we want to?

I guess what I am asking is would this be the best use of the tickets, rather than buy that one base ticket for just one of us, and doesn't it make things easier to stay on the same # of days left for your family? Will Disney sell the package with people having different days on their tickets? And does Disney still upgrade the child's ticket for free (my DD is 7)? Sorry to be so complicated :teeth:

With packages, everyone in the room has to have the same ticketing. Disney doesn't penalize children for having birthdays, and will replace Child tickets with Adult ones when they reach 10.
