We're still on the fence. We know we want to do a 100 point add-on very soon---we need more points.
Trouble is, the AKV incentive is sounding more logical to dh right now. But we need to make that decision within the next 48 hours or so.....so lots of nail-biting going on !

I want to add on somewhere....we are going to the world in 17 days. I think I want to see the model first before we add on. I am not sure if I want AKV or BLT.

I know, I called DH to say, "we need to talk about buying BLT" and he said "are you kidding me, you want to buy something big with all that's going on right now?"

I guess that's a no.

Yeah, we had a somewhat similar conversation.

Neither of us ruled it out, but we talked about it, were interested in doing it, and may even make the call to our guide to get final numbers on doing it.

But I think we may hold off until after the holidays this year...after my yearly bonus hits, after some other money comes in, etc...JUST to make sure we can pay it off quickly.

I think we're going to do 50 points. That will get us a 2 BR Lake View for 2 days every other year in value season. Right now we do 2 days in a hotel room at the start of our trip (Thursday night and Friday night) We may go as high as 100, so we can get it every year...but probably not.

Hopefully, it won't sell out before then. Rationally, my feeling is that it will not. Emotionally....I wish we were signing our papers today.

What's the advantage to buying right away? Should we wait until the Schaumburg DVC store has a party again? (I don't know the official names of these things!) In other words, do you think there will be more incentives in the future? Are there incentives now?

I suppose an incentive to buy now would be to be able to book at the 11 month window for next Christmas season. Is there a possibility it won't be ready on time? How has that typically gone?

Some folks are buying quickly to be a founding member. While others are concerned of a quick sell out (faster than BCV). Since only current members can buy at this moment, many can get their guides now before they get extra busy with new members. JMHO

We definately want to buy. We just need to decide if this is where we would rather stay in the Grand Villa with extended family every couple years, or keep that for BWV, and use a two bedroom here every other year.

On that note, I'm a little disappointed that not all the GVs have a MK view. It's probably better to have lake view as an option for fewer points, but that makes me conciously have to decide. Should I be frugal on such an extravagent purchase anyway or completely splurge?

Thanks. I realize that and we did buy more than 160pts. I was wondering if more than 1000 people would have bought pre-sale before Sunday's inputting.

I am interested, but I also still find the resales a really good buy right now. I was disappointed there were no developer's points or other freebies like that. We are also expecting a very large tax bill next year, so we are in a kind of "wait and see mode." I hope they don't sell out too soon and something tells me it won't. I could be tempted if they offered some more incentives down the road.

I also thought the point charts were quite high. I am not sure what a standard view is but my guess is there are very few of those room types available. The lake and MK view rooms seem like something we would only do on a "splurge" basis, although we really would LOVE to be on the monorail. Because there are probably so few standard rooms available, that is a good reason to buy BLT and not a resale, but we're still just going to sit on this one and see what happens.

We WILL be going next month to check out the models though! I hope they look better in real life than they did in the photos!

Thats actually a very good question. I was planning on waiting to do my add-on until I got to WDW next sunday, but now that you bring that up maybe I should get on the phone w/ my guide first thing in the AM and try to get this ball rolling!
