Spider roll is awesome, my absolute favorite roll! (not necessarily for the more delicate constitutions though). If you like softshell crab you will looove spider roll.

Eel is actually one of the milder tasting and most delicious sushi fish. And it is cooked. If you can get past the fact that it eel, it is definitely worth trying.

My favorite sashimi is definitely salmon.

Well based on your description I MIGHT try eel once. I can order just one piece of sushi with eel rather than several pieces. I don't usually like how sweet crab tastes but maybe it would balance with the saltiness of the seaweed.
