I know the vast majority of Canadian DISers are in the East, but I'm wondering who else in the West travels all the way to WDW!? :goodvibes

We are in the Lower Mainland in BC, very close to the Washington State border (very handy for shopping these days :cool1:)

Who else is going (or goes) to WDW from the West? :scratchin

Count me in. I'm on Vancouver Island, actually in East Sooke - about 40 minutes outside of Victoria but I commute to Victoria for work. I just wish we didn't have the extra hassle of getting off the island to either Vancouver or Seattle for a cheaper flight. If we could, we would go every year but for our family of 4 it takes me about a year per person to save. :sad1: Now, if we could just win that lottery. I still log onto these boards every day - it helps to keep my dreams alive.

Do I count in your west coast survey??? I live in Richmond, BC, and am planning a trip to Disneyland, CA in Feb/09. I love these boards...keeps my DIS addiction alive!:woohoo:

Yep... I am from good ol' Surrey, BC. Well, SOUTH Surrey to be specific. We just came back from a WDW vacation in July/August! I wanna go back SO bad... Oh well, my best friends and I are planning for a trip in summer '09 to DL for our High School graduation!! YIPPEE!!! Only 1.5 years to go *sigh*

Have a Disney Day!!

Another Islander here, living in Ladysmith, working in Nanaimo, always seem to be vacationing at WDW!

We're heading off next month yet again, well a cruise first, then to WDW. Flying out of Victoria wtih Alaska, may cost a wee bit more but saves us having to get ourselves off the Island.

I can't blame you for flying out of Victoria. Let's face it...the BC Ferries can be a challenge at the best of times, and you never know if you are going to get stuck in a multiple sailing wait. Best to fly, and avoid the hassle of dealing with the ferries. The expense is worth it when you factor in the time it would take you to get to the Vancouver International Airport from Victoria by taking a BC Ferry, versus flying. Have a great time on your trip!

Do I count? We are in Northern BC and are heading down April 29th-May12th. You think getting of the island is bad, try getting out of Northern BC at a decent price.

we're from calgary so not really west coast but still just about as far to travel! the 4 of us travelled to WDW last august and can't wait to go again. 2010 for the cruise too!

Same here...not quite the west coast but traveling almost the same distance. We are 1/2 hour south of Edmonton. We just went at Christmas 07 and trying to convince DH for August. But he is not biting yet, as we want to go at Christmas again this year.

We're from Richmond, B.C. We love :lovestruc WDW. However, the park tickets are so pricey that we drive to Southern California and go to DL instead in the summer. Still a good time but definitely does not have the "resort" feel of WDW.

I'm from Mission and I just got back from Disneyland about a week ago. I love reading all the trip reports here but now I really want to go to WDW for the first time. My DH won't go without the kids and they're still a little small for such a long trip.

I used to live in Surrey.Family is still there and I get back every 2nd year. I live there for 35 years till I moved to Ontario.

What a great response so far :goodvibes

We are in South Surrey. Disneyland would be more logical for us, but in a family democracy, majority rules :lmao:

With the exception of my dh (:sad2:), we're all looking forward to our WDW trip - should be interesting, with 12 family members total :woohoo:

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one in the West (yes, Alberta certainly does count as being in the West - I'm sorry, I should not have posted West "Coasters", as I meant all Westerners)

Have a great day, everyone :wizard:

wow 12!! I can't wait to go again either! Majority rules in our house too ha ha...of course the girls don't care whether it's DL or WDW but we do...we love the atmosphere in WDW!

We are from Calgary:goodvibes We bought at AKV but will also buy at GCV when on sale and possibly use DL as a summer holiday destination.

Well then I'll push this thread a little further east but certainly still west. We are from Regina and can't wait to go to WDW again this December. The kids don't know yet and hopefully DW and I can keep it quiet for a few months at least until the fall.

Oooh, how exciting - I couldn't keep a trip quiet here, I would blab it for sure :lmao:

That push sounds appropriate to me :goodvibes

From Edmonton here.
I love Disney. I'm always on the look out for people to go with. I'm originally from Oregon (which is a nice place) but I got a wild hair one day and decided to move to Canada. That was 9 years ago...I'm still here!!!
I'm going to WDW in June to take two nephews. Will fly down to Portland ,pick up the boys, and meet my brother from California at the Orlando airport. We're staying for a week. I am sooooooo excited.
