Whne do they usually offer fall FD?

This is the first time we are booking through Disney and getting a package(we have always used MIL timeshare). We are booked at AoA for Sept.28th-Oct.6th. We have 5 day tickets and the DDP. When do they usually announce deals for fall? If we get FD I want to switch to CSR, it's the only way we can afford it...I guess I'm being impatient

For the last 9 years the September free dining dates have been announced around the last week of March or the first week of April. One year, 2010 I believe, they did not release the dates until May.

Recently, they have been only offering the QS dining free in the values, and regular dining in moderates and deluxe hotels. That is why we stopped staying at Pop. It was the same price once you upgraded the dining plan.

Also, it is only for certain resort hotels.

I hope they release something soon...it's so hard to plan dining and everything else when you don't know when the hotel discounts will be.....of if they will even have any this year.

I'm not seeing that happen to be honest. There were many people who called about the bounceback and asked for value and were allowed to do it without hassle. The QS only at values were a good way to throw them a bone without giving the full discount. If they didn't do FD at all for Values, they would see their occupancy at those resorts plummet like crazy.

I think you always have to buy tickets for FD...we stayed three nights last March during FD (had a pin) and we only had to buy one day ticket, which was all we wanted anyhow.

It used to be a 1 day ticket and now I think it's a 2 day ticket. A 2 day ticket we don't need ups the vacation by about 400 bucks. While we can save the tickets for a future visit if $ is the issue- it makes the vacation very expensive.
We might just book a room only and pay for food OOP. We just want to do a quick 3 night trip with our toddler so food costs are going to be low.

I think you always have to buy tickets for FD...we stayed three nights last March during FD (had a pin) and we only had to buy one day ticket, which was all we wanted anyhow.

The 2 day base ticket requirement for free dining promos has been in place since 2010. You haven't been able to do 1 day base tickets with a free dining package since December of 2009.

Last year it was released at the very beginning if March. My confirmation for FD for last September is dated March 3 (for Disney Visa holders).

Yes, I know, but that is the earliest it's been released. Typically, for the last 9 years or so, the fall free dining dates have not been released until the end of March or first of April.

There are two different free dining timeframes for the latter half of the year. "Late summer" refers to the Aug/Sept free dining. "Fall" free dining is Oct-Dec. People often call the Aug/Sept deal "Fall" in error. The true Fall offer is not released until July (and even as late as August). Just thought I would clarify that so that people going in the Fall are not disappointed if something comes is released and only goes into Sept. It is going to be a long time before the Oct.-Dec. deals come out.

We really want to go September 28th through October but hate to not book the FDing deal coming up that only covers through September 25th......If we book that deal and then they add on that later time frame, it should be easy enough to just swap dates...right?
