Wow, have to say that I'm really surprised. CNN just said it was her bodyguard named Ray with her, not Ray J.

I have to think that all of the drugs, etc. really took a toll on her body. I'm sure her body was much older than that of a normal 48 year old.

What will probably be awful will be to find out may be how her daughter was told Whitney is dead. Since it happened at such a public function, people were probably Twittering it, before the daughter was told.

I don't know if this is true or not. They are saying her daughter is with her in LA at parties as well.

I doubt it too. If anything, they will be scrambling to put together some kind of memorial act for Whitney. On a business level, it will be ratings gold.

I would think that a CSI team would be there for any kind of death that has not been determined as natural causes, and they don't know that yet. Like, hypothetically, she could have been stuck with a poisonous pin, by someone jealous of her comeback. They need to gather evidence now, in case that turns out to be the case.

But, if it turns out to be an overdose, they can better convict the person giving her drugs if they have evidence for it.

They can test her blood right away for the presence of substances, called a Serum Toxic Screen. They can make a preliminary diagnosis based on that and evidence around the room and on her body, etc (if there are track marks and/or powder residue and such). Then an autopsy will have to rule out other causes and more extensive lab testing will be done.

I dont think they will cancel, I bet they are scrambling to put a tribute to her together. And I think it will be a more somber event.

It is so sad, such talent, to get caught up in the mess of drug addiction.

They won't cancel the Grammys. People die, it's a fact of life. They are not going to cancel such a huge event because of it. That would be, well, stupid.

I guess you don't understand the scope of what goes into these shows. Like others said, they will put something together to honor her, but they are not going to cancel.

I guess you don't understand the scope of what goes into these shows. Like others said, they will put something together to honor her, but they are not going to cancel.

Exactly- they will do a tribute to her and show their respect that way. It would be a logistical nightmare to cancel a show like that. I would think only something of the scope of 09/11 would cause it to be canceled.
