Whitney Houston dead

Sad, but I'm not surprised. There were some rough looking photos of her on Dlisted just the other day. She looked strung out.

Well, first, the cause of death hasn't been released. It's entirely possible she died (because) of something for which she couldn't get help. But aside from that - and I mean this kindly - she could and did get the help she needed, if her death was from a preventable cause. It wasn't effective, but she got plenty of help.

They news keep saying she was making a comeback, and it was believed she was clean. I think you are right she probably got some stuff at a party :(

Its sad she was a very beautiful and talented woman. It just proves that no one is immune to the power of drugs and the disaster that comes along with them.

All signs point to substance abuse, but sure, it could have been something else (in the hotel smack in the middle of the Grammy party). I hope it was something else.

Yes, if it was due to drugs, and she was in the wrong place, where they where being passed out like candy, and being an addict, she couldn't resist, someone needs to get Lindsay Lohan and shove her face at Whitney's corpse. It's something Lohan doesn't get. That being in that kind of environment, will tempt her addiction. Of course, she doesn't even believe she has a problem. :sad2:

Whitney knew she had a problem. The few interviews I caught of her lately, she talked openly about wrestling with that demon. It's a shame, if it wasn't because the party was for her mentor, Clive Davis, (IF she did die of drug complications,) she might not have been in that kind of party/drug environment at all. One of the top rules for addicts is to stay out of those kinds of environments.

So true.

I just went to a funeral last night of an old friend of mine. He was 39 and died of a drug overdose. He had gotten out of rehab 2 days before he died. I'm the child of a drug addict/ alcoholic father and know all too well the horrors of the disease. My heart breaks for Whitney's daughter.

I'm sure, she couldn't have been in the best of health. I hope, this wasn't an overdose, but it's rumored...she was back on the pipe.

I just heard it a little earlier in the car and got chills. I remember when she first came out, then my last thought of her was being interviewed saying Crack Is Whack.

May she find peace in death that she didn't seem to have within herself in life.

If she was still wrestling that demon then she shouldn't have been at that party, no matter who it was for. I hope it comes out that it was something other than drugs, but I won't be surprised if that was the cause of her death.

I find myself ignoring what others are saying if negative. I enjoyed hearing her sing sometimes and am shocked and saddened that she didn't beat her demons. Ironically, she said in an interview that she was her own worst enemy. I can't help but wonder if that was a subtle cry for help... R.I.P Whitney and thanks for the music and memories.

Yes, and Clive Davis will probably feel horribly guilty if it was due to drugs at his party, knowing she only came there because of him, when she shouldn't have.

A general rule of AA is that: You cannot expect to sit in the middle of a bar and think you won't end up drinking. Even alcoholics, sober for decades know not to do this. It pushes too many old buttons.

Whitney hadn't been clean for that long. (Again, if this was drug related.)

There is a crime lab at the hotel. Would that be there for drug overdose?

I would think that a CSI team would be there for any kind of death that has not been determined as natural causes, and they don't know that yet. Like, hypothetically, she could have been stuck with a poisonous pin, by someone jealous of her comeback. They need to gather evidence now, in case that turns out to be the case.

But, if it turns out to be an overdose, they can better convict the person giving her drugs if they have evidence for it.
