What time does white water snacks open and what is your opinion of it. I'm thinking about stopping there for breakfast on my next trip. Any stories or pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm almost positive it opens at 7 am. It's my favorite place to eat at DLR. LOVE IT! The breakfast burritos are large and delicious. The nachos are yummy and I personally really like the tuna and egg salad sandwiches in the deli case. Everything there is very fresh tasting!

Enjoy!

A lot of the food at the DLR is pretty bad overall (with several exceptions of course). Almost all walk-ups are pretty bad. White Water Snacks, however, is actually very good and I highly recommend it!

Avoid the egg and bacon biscuit. I had it this morning -- dry and burned! (or maybe it was just a bad day for the cook).

I beg to differ on the egg and bacon biscuit sandwich. The cook must have had a bad day when the previous poster went because when I had it, it was absolutely delicious. It was much larger than I thought it would be, and the bacon was high quality. Plus, there were 2 slices of real cheddar cheese. The breakfast burrito and egg salad sandwich were great, too, and each dish came with 2 strawberries on the side. The portion sizes were very splittable, so WWS actually ended up being one of the more economical choices at DLR, even though it's inside the GCH. My DBF and I actually wished that we could have eaten there more but it didn't always fit into our plans. There were just so many places we wanted to try! I promise that you will enjoy it. :thumbsup2

LOVE the burrito...awhile back someone said you could just order a breakfast platter thing, but it isn't on the menu.
I hope they expand this place when the villas open...if they can..I think it's going to be the 'general store' for them.

Sorry to give a bad review but when we were there last year I *may* have gotten food poisoning from there. My family had hamburgers there and later that day I was so sick :sick:I couldn't leave the hotel or take care of our youngest so my DH and older kids could go back to the park. It was our last day there and really was not the end to an otherwise amazing vacation that I had imagined. To be fair no one else got sick and it may have been something else but we won't be going there on our next visit.

I can't comment on breakfast, but we loved going there for lunch last trip. It was nice to get outside the park (because WWS was pretty empty and quiet when we were eating there), and we really enjoyed our food. We were not DLR hotel guests, but we able to both leave DCA and return to DCA using the small GCH entrance right near WWS. Have a great trip and happy planning. Your under 60 days - woohoo!

We have only eaten there acouple of times and found the food OK. Have not been there since the remodel so we will see next month. Only wish it opened earlier.

When we stayed at GCH we went to Whitewater a lot, mainly because they had an amazing selection of fresh fruit, veggies, salads, etc. It's cafeteria style, so you can choose from the refrigerated cases, or you can order at the cashier what you want from the grill. They had all kinds of pastries, cereal, yogurt, juices, milk, sandwiches etc also. My daughter was sick while we were there, and I was so thankful for the fresh and yummy cut-up fruits and veggies they had in the refrigerated case, since that's all she felt like eating.

The place is usually quiet and uncrowded. There's a covered area with picnic tables outside the dining area, which overlooks the GCH swimming pool. There's a friendly cat who sometimes hangs out there and will look longingly at your tuna sandwich. When we were there last year she'd just had kittens.

Just wanted to give another big thumbs up for WWS.:thumbsup2
We love the breakfast burrito. We usually get one along with a fresh fruit cup and split both items. And their fruit is always outstanding, super sweet and fresh. We are always full and I am a fairly big eater. Plus since we bring our own drinks from the room (or only have water), with the AP discount, it's only about $10.

The sandwiches are great too. If you can make it over there to eat, you won't regret it.:)

Thank you everyone for your feed back! If anyone else has anything to share, please keep the reviews coming.

Love this place. The nachos are excellent and huge. DS and I share them, so since he does not like sour cream and guacamole, I have them on the side, which they put in small plastic containers. By the way, the guac is fantastic, chunky and tasty. We were there in April and the nachos were $7.99, and with a 10% AP discount, you can't beat it for value.

Also you can get a French Dip sandwich, which I really miss at the French Market. Since there is a soda fountain, refills are easy, and I usually take my drink back into the park.

Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Also love WWS. I carry a large water bottle and WWS is one of the few places I can fill it up with ice - they have the self serve fountain sodas (Red Rocket Pizza in DL is another good place to refill water bottles).

The fresh salads, fruit, etc.. at WWS are great. The burgers and chili dog are very good. It's a must do for us, some of the best counter service food at DLR.

I love White Water! They have a pretty nice selection of food, plus it is very relaxing there :) It's a nice place to just chill.
Of course my favorite part of White Water is the friendly cat! :goodvibes

I've also had the French Dip and really liked it. My DH loves the huge cinnamon rolls. They've also always had a DVC discount too and hope that continues.

mmmmmmmmmm WWS is good!!!!! We shared too, the portions are HUGE!! We just wish it stayed open later, we keep wanting to drop in for a quick dinner but it's always closed. And it's only around 8 that we are trying....

This is our favorite place to go! It is quiet and uncrowded even at lunch. Have never been for breakfast. Our favorite is the chicken sandwhich. We get an AP discount and since we split it and are still full, we only pay $4 each for lunch. Good quality, lots of food for the price, and the best deal at DLR. :thumbsup2
