So, are we putting them away this weekend :confused3

If you decide to wear them, watch out for Kathleen Turner from "Serial Mom"! :earseek:

Unless you are going to be in People's worst dressed section, I wouldn't worry too much about it. :rotfl:

Besides tennies and sandals I don't think I've owned white shoes since the 80's. Remeber those horrible pointy toed flats that you had in every color? :cold:

I'll wear the sandals until it is too cold to wear sandals and I'll always wear the tennies when appropriate.

I'll be wearing mine in a couple weeks when we go on our "summer" vacation!!

After that I'll put them away until next year!

My vote- all those "fashion rules" are silly wear whatever you want and don't worry about what others think.

I dunno 'bout that, but I'll be wearing short sleeves and a tie.

:scared1: My eyes!! My eyes!!! :teeth:

My tennies are white. Other than work boots for the "manure areas of the place", I wear my tennies! Perhaps more than you wanted to know....

I don't care what the "fashion rules" are. I wear what I want and what I think looks best with my clothes.

Seeing that it's still 100 degrees outside, my white sandals and flipflops aren't going anywhere for a loooooooong time!

Will you be sporting a pocket protector and a swingline stapler?

As to the poll.... never wear white! :crazy2:

Not including athletic shoes, which I do not buy in any color other than white, I just couldn't wear white shoes after Labor Day, and I live in Savannah, where it will be hot for another 2 months at least. I don't have to worry-I threw out my only pair of white dress shoes when I moved in June. Come to find out, I NEVER wore them, before OR after Labor Day.

I never really worried about it one way or another. I don't pay attention to a person's shoes, I hope they don't pay attention to mine.

I don't like white shoes other than tennis shoes. And even really white (new) tennis shoes looks sort of dorky, IMO. You gotta scuff em up a bit. :rotfl:

We used to do that when we were young, as soon as someone got new sneakers, we would all step on them to "break" them in!

White shoes always have that,"First Holy Communion" look to me. I got a pair of white backless sandals this year only b/c they were in a style that was very comfortable last year but was discontinued by Liz Clayborn. Well as much as I wanted to I just could not put those stupid shoes on my feet. All I could think of was big marshmallos. I wore them around the house but ...well I guess they are going to be considered slippers from now on.

My personal opinion: if you are older than 4 but younger than 75, don't wear white shoes.

I wear my white tennis shoes 95% of the time, except to church or when there's a lot of snow, so yes, I wear white after labor day. I pay no attention to fashion or the latest styles either. My white tennies go well with my jeans and T-shirts!

I don't think the OP meant tennis shoes...

I don't even own a pair of white shoes, and I wear white capris and white skirts all the time. I coordinate my shoes with the top I wear. If I'm wearing all white, I wear a bronze or silver or gold shoe. It's just a personal thing, I hate white shoes on me...my feet are big and don't tan well.

I think it was Snoopy who said one time, "Only nurses should wear white shoes." Well, this nurse doesn't even wear them to work...even my "white" shoes have some contrasting color on them.

That being said, the "after Labor Day" doesn't apply to the deep South or tropical locales. Go ahead and wear them...just not to important or business events.
