White Plains NY Airport Users - few ?'s

A friend of mine is using AirTran for her trip this fall. She lives in central CT but saved alot purchasing airfare RT white plains > MCO. She's checking into her options for travelling to NY - their website leaves alot to be desired.

1 - Are there secured parking lots available? Park/Fly deals? On-site rental agencies? Any other help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

White Plains airport is very small. Yes there is car rental agencies located there.

Thanks Bob, she's going over Columbus Day weekend and found a great rate and jumped on it.

safetymom thanks. I'm trying to save her a drive to the airport itself to check things out, so any info about the area would be greatly appreciated!!!

My husband made 2 business trips from there and my mother in law flew into there....because it was so easy to get to and to use. My husband left the car there both trips, parking was close, easy and relatively cheap (cheaper than the limo to there). Should be a less stressful way to go!

They parking is around $20 per day. No fly & park type places around. There's plenty of parking & it's inside a garage. Most people have someone drop them.

It's a very small airport. Easy in & out.

Should give her some options to consider. Her flight out is very early in the am, and the return is later in the evening. Perfect for a WDW vacation - not so perfect to have someone driving to an airport a couple of hours away.

I am considering using this airport for our april trip. I had read that parking is very limited and spaces may not be available. How true is this? I would hate to get there and have no parking and no options as we are about to leave for a vacation. Thanks for any help.

Mary I hope that's not true!!

Kimberle mentioned most having someone drop them off, so even with a small lot maybe it doesn't fill up?

Has anyone experienced this??

I read this on the airport's own website. What I am considering is staying at the White Plains Crowne Plaza the night prior (If they will allow us to leave the car there for the week). They offer a free shuttle to the airport and I found a room for $129 (AAA rate)-- since we will be going for 8 days I'll be saving money this way with parking costing $20/day at the airport. I'll let you know what I find out.

Parking is limited but I have never seen it filled up. The only time it was close to full was at christmas time but even then we got a spot no problem. Good Luck
