I've been out of the pin trading loop for a while. I heard something about a White Glove pin to be released today. What is it? I did a search on pinpics and came up with 4 pages of pins, but no answers.

It's a new series. (WDW White Glove collection) The last one that came out looked like a window with Tinkerbell. There is an open hand with a white glove at the bottom. When you opened the window, Peter, Wendy, et al were flying over London. Pinpics #51700

Originally it was decided to release this pin you're talking about, Mowgli, in Disney World--all 4 parks plus Pin Traders at Downtown Disney. It is a Limited Edition pin of only 500.

Then someone had the (questionable) idea of instead releasing it only at the recent Pin Trading event held Friday at the Convention Center of the Contemporary. I was there. In fact, I would have skipped the pin trading event entirely (as I collect, not trade) had it not been for my desire to get one of these pins.

I'm not sure what the benefit is of releasing a pin at only one location inside Disney World. I'm sure people planned on picking up one in the parks only to find out at last minute that all copies were slated to be sold at the Pin Trading Event from 5 to 8 pm. (Actually, I'm sure all sold out in the first hour or so because those buying the pins weren't casual shoppers but rather hard-core traders/collectors. Some even looked like they were salivating or chomping at the bit to get one of these pins. <g>)

Frankly I'd rather go into the park or to Downtown Disney to purchase it as I am able to enjoy other aspects of Disney World before and after purchasing the pin.

We ended up at the Contemporary on Friday night. So I did get to see the Mowgli pin. I wasn't particularly thrilled with it. The spinner part was cool. I bought 1 pin. The cashier looked at me as if I was crazy when she saw the four of us standing there and I only got one.

I was surprised how many traders were there. My son got some great pins from trading with people there.
