Whistle While We Work: January 2016 Bounceback! page 12 10/15

Great Castle photos! I love that shot of the castle too. I got some good ones myself in January.

I haven't been to the Hall of Presidents since 2012. I have to agree I don't know if I can picture any of the candidates left giving speeches in the hall of presidents. It's definitely going to be interesting.

Dis meets are always fun!

We last rode the ferry when we took the monorail from Epcot to MK. The MK monorail wasn't running and everyone crammed onto the ferry. It wasn't fun at all. :(. It also made me glad that I wasn't staying at a monorail resort.

I finally talked DH into seeing the Hall of Presidents. It was s cold day in January and he agreed so that he could get warm. It is actually very interesting.

Dis meets are always fun. :)

Loving your latest update Dee :)
I always think it's so peaceful viewing the castle from the walkways at the side (even if there are hoards of people somehow it just feels quieter to me). Gorgeous photos :)
We visited and enjoyed The Hall of Presidents last year in an effort to get out of the rain and we all loved the animatronics. Have to agree I cannot imagine (or maybe I just don't want to) which of your current Presidential candidates are going to be there next.:rolleyes2
Love your selfie with Teena and Janetmom and thank goodness no Tarzan type yelling had to be employed otherwise who knows what accidents may have ensued!!:scared1:

YAY JanetMom DISmeet!!!!!!!!

In our house there is a definite battle between the candidates. I feel like my DS7 is Alex P. Keaton from Family Ties :)

Hall of Presidents is cool, and a great place to relax out of the heat ;)

Beautiful castle pictures

I love all of your castle pictures!

We went into the preshow area and I looked around a bit. I took this picture and sent it to Nate.

I have a little confession to make. My oldest son Nate has been hanging around with a really bad crowd at school. It’s a little embarrassing, because he sure wasn’t raised this way.

He has been influenced by some friends, and a teacher, who are

CONSERVATIVE!

It could be worse. Reagan did have his good points. For example, he was a big fan of jelly beans. I think we can all agree that jelly beans are more important than politics.

That is all I will say on this controversial topic, except that I can’t picture any of 3 candidates currently running giving the speech as the incumbent president at the end of the Hall of Presidents show next year.

I think that should be a criteria to run for president: you have to be 35, a natural born citizen, and you have to pass a Hall of Presidents screen test.

Another reason the timing of my visit was great is that JanetMom was there at the same time, this was the last night of her trip and she agreed to meet us in MK.

Yay! Awesome that you got to meet up with another Beach Club friend!

Yay! Great post - it's nice to be reminded of such a fun night! I was so happy when I found out our schedules overlapped, and even happier once we got to spend some time together.

It's fun getting to know someone online, but so much better to meet in person. And so easy for three women to get together and just start chatting. I can't wait for my next trip to WDW when I get to meet even more Disney peeps, up close and personal!

We had such a fun time in the line at BTMR that I made my son go on it again the next day just so he could experience the line too!

And I should add, that the NinjaMom yell was quite effective on a previous trip. It is even more effective when she combines the Tarzan yell with a well choreographed Titanic scene recreation!

Yes, you did! You took your pictures a couple of days after mine. This was Friday night and I believe yours were Monday.

Interesting is the nice way of saying it.

Indeed, Dis meets are awesome!

::yes::

UGH!!! Crowded ferry does NOT sound magical.

I am not sorry that we went to the Hall of Presidents. Not an every time attraction, but maybe more than every other decade would be good.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Dis meets I had on this trip!

:thumbsup2

Thank you!

I may have seen the HoP in its prime- no telling what will happen in a few months.

The pictures with Teena and Janet were hard to come by. I thought I was back on a trip with my teens! They kept objecting, but I really treasure the photos I have of us together!

The Tarzan yell definitely has some drawbacks!

:rotfl:

Janet and I met during the Aug 2014 Beach Club Meet. We have very similar personalities and we just laugh and laugh when we are together!

Yes, that is kind of like what it is around here. I should watch reruns of Family Ties with Nate. He would get a kick out of that.

Well, we didn't need to dodge the heat in January!!! It wasn't raining, either or too cold. Imagine that. We went to Hall of Presidents to actually experience the attraction! Who does that?

I hope all is ok with the monorail during your stay. Of course, it is not too late to change...

:lmao:

What time is the 3:00 parade? LOL I'm gonna have to use that next time. I've only watched that parade once. I am not sure why we always seem to miss it, but I think it's because we're usually in someplace cool and dark at that time...sitting in Philharmagic dozing off or in CoP doing the same. It's always at the hottest time of day! It is a great parade though.

I have not been to the Hall of Presidents...ever! But someone recommended that I go. So I probably will on our next trip (I say this before every trip though)

I like your silly pose in the stockade! Very cute. And I totally would expect that from you. :)

Nice pictures, and I love that view of the back/side of the castle. It's so pretty and there is usually never anyone in the picture from that angle.

OK, I am in favor of jelly beans!

I was horrified when Nate told me his yearbook quote was going to be a Ronald Reagan saying. But he chose one that is totally appropriate for him:

"It's true hard work never killed anybody, but I figure, why take the chance?" Ronald Reagan

That was his philosophy throughout a lot of his school career, but in the past couple of years he has pulled it together and really has done well for himself.

Harrison Ford!

He has experience playing a President.

It was such a super night.

I still haven't figured out if I had a near miss with you... Did you spend any time at EPCOT on Sunday, marathon day?

:goodvibes

We were there in the morning (around 10ish) for a few hours, and then again in the late afternoon. Our plans got changed around a bit that day, so we were kinda running around a little more crazily than we usually do. We may have had a near miss ... I knew you were planning to be there, but I was too frazzled from our crazy day to look for you :(

I was walking behind two women, who from the back looked like you and Beth. Near France/Morocco, after my Behind the Seeds tour, so probably 11:30-ish. Dark hair, wearing grey. I called out "Sarah", not too loudly because I didn't want to appear to be a loon, but nobody turned around.

Hmm ... I was wearing a grey shirt, but we were mostly in Future World in the morning. 11:30-ish we probably would have just gotten off of Test Track and then we went to meet Baymax ... so it probably wasn't us. Oh well.

That's good, I guess. You weren't ignoring me.

Meeting up with you was definitely a highlight. Look forward to getting together with you again!

I was surprised neither Teena nor you had been in the new interactive standby queue at BTM. It really is a fun way to wait in line.

The Tarzan yell is effective, but not entirely foolproof... I know for a fact ~Ninja was not successful summoning you during the "Great Midnight Fire Alarm of 2014" incident.

:lmao:

Billy the Photopass guy was actually a good sport when we asked him. We had a great time chatting with him.

I'm not a big parade person, rides rides rides all the time- but FoF is gorgeous and fun!

I won't judge if you don't make it to HoP!

Right?!? I'm not sure why Teena would be surprised I wanted to do that.

It really is a great view of the castle. I still remember "discovering" it for the first time- on the class trip in 2012. I don't think I had ever taken the path way to Liberty Square that way before.

Of course, I may have changed......back to BWI CL. ;) Two discounted rooms opened up so I am back on the Epcot side where I belong!!! And I would've done the hall of Presidents just to do it as well. I am a sucker for history I suppose :)

Finally making it back here! Hope to do an update sometime this week.

Love both jelly beans and Nate's yearbook quote :thumbsup2

Me too!

Although I was less impressed one day when he was 7 or 8 and I asked him if he could be any lazier. He answered "You could breathe for me"

::yes::

Yes, I agree you belong at an EPCOT resort. I feel the same way. If by some tragedy of fate I couldn't stay at the BC or YC, I think BW would be the backup due to the location. That is the key criteria for us.

It was nice to see the Hall of Presidents after so many years skipping it!

"We ride some rides, eat some food and have some laughs" - JanetMom

Since it has been so long since my last update- sorry about that folks!- here is a recap:

I arrived in Florida late Thursday night, Jan 7 and Teena picked me up at the airport.

We spent Friday morning cleaning, organizing and packing and then we headed off for some fun at MK around 2 pm.

We watched the Festival of Fantasy parade. Following a visit to the Hall of Presidents, we met up with our friend Janet.

WP_20160108_038.jpg

These were our Fast Pass reservations for the evening:

Haunted Mansion ... 4:20-5:20
Peter Pan ... 5:30-6:30
Pirates .. 6:30-7:30

After exchanging hugs, we went into HM and boarded our doom buggies. Teena and Janet rode together so I could sit alone and take pictures if I so desired.

I am so envious of my friends that manage to take excellent pictures in here. The combination of the dark lighting and movement of the cars make it really difficult.

I used my point and shoot and although the pictures would not win any awards, they are probably the best I have taken in there.

Crappy picture but this scene with the ghost blowing out the candle is special to me. Our class trip went behind the scenes at this exact spot .

DSCF9640.jpg

When we exited the attraction we saw a Photopass photographer taking pictures in front of the haunted carriage, but there was a little line and my friends did not want to stop for a picture.

Boo!

We had some time before our next Fast Pass, and we didn’t have much to eat that day, so it was dinnertime! I told Teena that there was an entrée I wanted to try at Columbia Harbor House, seafood macaroni and cheese. According to what I have read, it is only available for dinner. Teena had never heard of it and when we tried to find it on menus online, we couldn’t find it. But fortunately, it was listed on the menu when we got to the restaurant.

Oh-EM-Gee, my entrée was awesome! I don’t really even like macaroni and cheese that much since I prefer lighter fare, so I rarely order it, but this was sooooo good!

We had a nice leisurely dinner with lots of girl talk. We talked a lot about our families and I learned a lot about Bob and Jeanne that I didn’t know. I was aware that Bob had worked at the Contemporary Resort as a greeter, but I didn’t know that both he and Jeanne had worked at Typhoon Lagoon.

We lingered at the table until it was time for our Fast Pass for Peter Pan.

We all rode together.

I only took two photos, a selfie of the three of us that is for some reason, green and a picture of the golden ship at the end. I don’t have access to these photos at the moment and they are not really worth uploading anyway.

We had some time before our next Fast Pass (Pirates), so I convinced Teena and Janet that we ride my favorite Disney attraction- Big Thunder Mountain.

Neither of them had been in the new interactive queue and Teena had not been on the ride in a long time because she didn’t know if it would be a good ride for Lily. This would be a good chance to preview the ride so they could decide whether Lily would like it or not. (Verdict- Teena thought she would love it, and that proved to be true on a recent visit to Disneyland)

Teena and Janet (and I) had fun playing while waiting in line. My favorite thing is the canary in the coal mine.

We walked over to the new stand hidden behind the spitting camels and ordered up 3 Dole Whips.

We sat at a table and we all enjoyed our snacks, as well as some more girl talk. It was a wonderful evening of getting to know one another better. But alas, it was getting late and Janet needed to get back to her family.

Teena and I decided to stick around the Kingdom a little longer and end our evening with a bang!

Looks like you had a great night, I had the shrimp/lobster mac n cheese during our December trip. It was very good, and very filling. I hope all is well with Teena.
